ozziepost, thank you. I perhaps have a different perspective on what the "Borg" is - because I feel everyone in IT is an idividual, and therefore are victims. Whether it is the writers of the material right down to the volunteers. I feel the "organisation" is a breathing satanic spirit that permiates into the minds of these victims. So when I think of the "Borg" so to speak, i think of the spirit behind it, not the individuals, I dont think they need our negativitey.

Hey, all this negativity towards those in the WT, weren't we all guilty of the same things? We were in the WT and are out. They have my empathy not my self righteous judgemental attitude, otherwise I would be reverting back to the WT ego. They are victims like we were. Unfortunately in most cases, I feel, when one takes away the WT concepts, GOD gets taken away too. Because the mind control says "GOD is the WT concepts". It is a mind bending cult for sure.

many of you are no doubt going through the same thing.. within several posts here, i have spoken of my mother.
my dear sweet mother, who just turned 78, and who has been a faithful jw since 1959. she abandoned me in 1981, when i decided to leave the borg, and for twelve years she did not speak to me, write to me, call me, or visit me.

Adult Children of Alcoholics

are they ok with the 12 steps?
the reason i am asking is because i think it might be beneficial for my jw-wife to attend some aca meetings but i'm unsure of how "anti-aa" the witnesses are.. also, if anyone care to make any comments re aca meetings, i'm all ears.

some interesting comments here. I personally attend a 12 step program and was not put off by the 'god concept, or higher power' to lean on. My spirituality was not destroyed by a cult or the mind control did not frighten me off from participating in another group.
I never told the elders about personal decisions I wanted to make, I already had 'them' sumed up. I was always an individual within the group. I joined the WT when I was 21yrs old so I was pretty much my own person. I truly was there because of "Jehovah". When I disfellowshipped the WT org. I never walked away from GOD...Higher Being ..whatever.

Male and Female Friends

he says that men cannot be friends with women.
he says that any man that appears to want to be friends with a woman really just wants to get in her pants, and if they end up friends it's purely by accident.

I think it is easier for a woman to be friends with a man than vise versa. I also think it depends on the motive, whether they are emotionally involved and how much time they spent together. I certainly wouldnt like to be at home while the hubby was out to dinner and the pictures with another female. That is like a date! There is a difference between friendship and dating another. I dont believe in being nieve, or being taken for a ride.
