i just found this place and thought i'd post.

i'm a 50+ year old grandmother who was "raised in the truth".

i have been on my way out of "the organization" for several years now, but have moved cautiously because i don't want to jump from the firing pan into the fire so to speak.

Hello and welcome, Nana....glad to have you here with us. You could always just ease into the holiday thing, you know? Just start by decorating with lights, say, the bannister, or a grapevine arbor entwined with lights, in the archway of a living/dining room...have the lights on all year round, like I do. Then gradually work your way into more and more, than one year, put up a tree...that's what we did...now we really go all out. I'm faded, for over 8 years now, my hubby is df'd.

Where there is a will, there is a way. Best wishes, keep posting.

JW husband very sad

i have been out of jws for about three years, husband still goes and brings out two young girls.

he has been really withdrawn lately, eating less, not interested in sex.

i thought he was moping because i recently had a birthday party for our young daughter and because of halloween activities.

Hi and welcome, Rebirth. It's not easy being in a religiously divided marriage. Your husband does need to address his depression, but he also needs to realize that you are still his wife, and you love him just as much now, as you did before.

He also needs to respect you, and the choices you have made for yourself, in regards to the "truth". You can see the JW mentality coming out, unfortunately. It's ALL their way, or the highway. Like another poster said about her experience, maybe if he's convinced that you are not going anywhere, he'll relax a bit, and come round....one thing is for sure, you both need to sit down and talk this out.

We're here for you ....don't get too discouraged.

being a pioneer.

i kid you not..........this was on one of those chrome frame things that go around a liscense plate on a car i saw today.

it was a cute lightblue vw beetle bug.

Wow. How ridiculous.....the car is cute, but the license plate....

Happiness is............being able to enjoy my family,celebrating holidays, going places on a Saturday morning with them,( instead of in service) watching my boys play football, all free of guilt,and free of the borg.

i'm 20. been a dub: since 1993 (year my parents started studying).

i was 8. baptized: in 2002. i was 17. stopped being a dub: mentally, 4 years ago.

Welcome, Primitivecool.....like the name.. You've come to the right place. I'm faded, as well, just walked right out that KH door, and never looked back. I won't say it was easy, because my family has hounded me to come back, for almost 9 years now. But they are finally getting the hint. I'm looking forward to getting to know you through your posts.

i watched this last night on w5 it was very scary....i had a call about a year ago asking if i knew anything about it( the immagration folk called me) but i had never heard about it.

now it is awful.... hope it come through.

If you give in and cease your Bible study or association with Jehovah’s Witnesses, how will loved ones ever understand that accurate knowledge of the Bible is a life-and-death matter?

This is the biggest crock of crap, I've ever heard and read!!! My "worldly" family wanted nothing more to do with us, because we were told to have nothing to do with them anymore, after we became witnesses....they didn't want to "understand" accurate knowledge of the bible....

I no longer go to Church

at the moment i believe in god but i no longer attend church, infact its been some months since i last went and i've never felt more sure of myself as a person.. the view i take at the moment is that when i left the witnesses, i immediately went to seek out something that would organize my life but give me the control for a while.

even at church i saw people 'hooked' but the sad thing was, their entire faith crumbled away from the church or if for example the priest (vicar) wasn't there.. i think it was an important part of my journey which helped me get where i am, and i think a lot of folks who leave the org who need something to fill their time and want friends quickly, should try it if its what they need, it was what i needed at that time.. .

on the whole, i have a problem with organized religion now, whereas last year and earlier this year i woulda said different.. .

Hiya Karl!! I think there a lot of people who do have that spiritual need. They need to go to a church, but I'm not one of them. Coming out of the borg, I do not want to become a "slave" to any other oganized religion, again. I do believe in God, but I don't feel like I have to go to a church in order to worship Him. Just my thoughts.

Psstt....Karl....stay away from the church of Mary....she will fleece you good...with her charm and wit....she's dangerous boy!

What do You Think? How much Time do we have Left?

so, i havent been posting much of late, i found that i have needed to have a little mental break from the whole fading/falling away thing.

please dont take it personal.

i would like to hope that one day i/we will be able to fully stand on my own, and then truly help others.

I can't say, but my situation is a little different. My husband is Df'd, and I'm faded. About 8 years ago, the elders happened to call on us Christmas day.....my relative set them upon us,. I have a grapevine arbor, in the archway between my living room and dining room, that I entwined little white lights through, and it's lit every night. They asked me about it, and I laughed. The one elder had seen it before, and I told him so. We had not put a tree up that year, and there was no giftwrap lying around, although my youngest son came running into the room,shouting, "Look what my dad got me"....So they had no proof that we were celebrating anything, other than a "JW Family Day"...they left, and that was it.

We've never been bothered again, however I am careful not to buy giftwrap and such at stores that I know the witlesses frequent.Also, the nosy relative that I had, has moved away.

What do you look forward to?

since the promises of many of us have been found to be lacking in truth, what do you look forward to in the distant future?.

i know we need to live for the day and enjoy our families and the little things,but do you have hope for a future where true justice will ever prevail?.

I feel the same way as Penny does. I have no idea what is going to happen as far as the world scene is concerned, but I do know, that I must try to make each and every day count. Make it good, make sure my kids are getting the best out of their childhood, and are happy.

Make sure my marriage is the best as it can be, so my home is a haven for my family. I look forward to my boys growing older and going to university, getting a decent job, getting married, having more grandchildren, perhaps.

Watching my 17 month old grandson growing, is a real joy. I look forward to the times when I can take him to the zoo, and watch his excitement as he sees all the exotic animals for the first time.

If you have a cat, it will know it's you. Seriously, I think you will have an inner peace, that you've never felt before you began you're journey. You will know what you must do, in order to keep that peace. Just my 2 cents.
