  WATER WITCHING

  do you believe water witching actually works?

  i had lunch with an ex-dub friend yesterday who told me that many years ago, when she was still a witness, her landlord's son came over (they rented a farm) and he showed her that it did work.

  My father told me that he and his dad used to do water witching when he was a boy out on the farm. It always worked for them. I think the explanation above is a feasible explanation. Delilah's aunt (a Witness) used to do water witching and I know she was spoken to by the elders about "dabbling in demonizm".

  Funny you should mention this, Mary, I was about to...My aunt's m/i/l did the water witching as well, she was never a witness, and she always found water. They were never without water on their two farms. Imagine, the debbil looking after a witness family...hahahaha

  she got some pain meds this am and she told me the dr. will probably release her this afternoon.

  I saw this on television as well, and was disgusted that the WT still tries to defend their rule on reporting abuse within the congregation. It's bullshite....they are not trying to protect the children at all. They're trying to protect the abuser, and their own arses. They make me ill.

  i was brought up as a j/w and my mum stopped going when i was a teenager.

  i tried to get back into it as an adult but spent more time in the bible studies arguing, so i kind of realised after a few years it was going nowhere.. spent years just studying on my own cos i couldnt find a christian organisation i felt i agreed with and stayed clear of church cos of so called.

  My Grandmother is Dying (non JW) from Cancer

  my grandmother is not a jw nor is my grandfather or my father.

  she is however a methodist and i think she has a belief in jesus and that she is going to heaven.. i would like to use a short scripture in a card to her that might ease her mind a little in these last days of hers.

  she was always supportive of me when i was a jw even though she didn't buy into no christmas, birthdays, the usual and always celebrated them with me anyway (like any good grandmother would do).. any suggestions would be appreciated.

  JrJr...I am so sorry. Grandmothers are wonderful beings. Both of mine were wonderful...I just lost my Grammy in October, and it hurts. One thing I can say is, spend as much time as you can with her. She will appreciate it, and you'll be so glad you did. Hugs.

  Our Puppy did not make it.

  well after going to bed early for it has been a long day i was awaken by my fourteen year old and she was crying for the vet just called and the puppy i got them two weeks ago just died.

  the breeder was at an expo at city hall and they all gave me those "mom i am going to die if i don't have her" looks till i forked over money i did not have for this lil baby beagle.

  we brought her home and i thought my she must be so tired for she slept a lot the first day.

We get attached to the damned things, and when they die, especially so young, and you just got her, it's very upsetting. I'd be pissed with the breeder you got her from.

  I've maintained, that when our boxer dies, we will not get another dog. I know we will, my husband and kids cannot live without a dog....and neither could I, truth be told.

  This has made me so angry.........................

  i was talking to my sister who has never been in the org, about a non witness aunt who has terminal cancer.

  she was telling me how my aunt was putting her affairs in order and wanted to start to organize her funeral.. apparently she wanted to have a service in the little church on the corner of her street, but said that if she did all the witnesses in the family wouldnt attend and because she desperately wants them there she has given up the idea and will go for something that wont offend their fragile sensibilities.. this just made me feel so mad.

  i always felt guilty, when people had to accommodate me because "my religion doesnt allow me to do that " or whatever i said.

  Vitty, I'm very sorry about your aunt. I'd be really angry too. The witnesses are arrogant and downright rude when it comes to pushing their beliefs on others, and ahead of others beliefs.

  I think your aunt should carry on with her own arrangements, the others can do as they please. Hopefully, their love of family, with override their love of "truth". Sometimes it does happen.

  My parents went to my cousin's wedding a couple years back, drove 3 hours to the church, then stood outside on the steps for the ceremony. I never heard of anything so ridiculous...I laughed my ass off at them. Then they didn't even go to the reception....What's that scripture that talks about them, "swallowing down the camel, to spit out the gnat"????
