  Homosexuality and how should a JW or 'Study' view it?

  i am sure the subject is not very descriptive and for this i appologize.. i would like some assistnace in biblical references that say how homosexuality should be viewed and how one should deal with another that is homosexual or that has homosexual friends even if they non study's daughter says she and this other girl aren't 'doing anything'.

  i know this is long winded, so i will just now finally get to the point.. i am a grandmother that has recently taken back up studying after a 1-2 year pause.

  when i had first started studying, my daughter was also studying and we had our study togeather as i was staying with she and her husband because she had medical trouble and could not care for their 3 children when he was gone to work.

  Fairmind..... You are heterosexual therefore it is obvious TO YOU that man and woman should be together.
  
  As a gay man, I had to reconcile my faith with my sexuality. I did 14 months worth of studying secular works, along with greek translations, as well as various bible texts, cannons, and concordences. What I found is that homosexuality is not the sin it is preached about. The bible was condemning pedastry, idolotry, and prostitution.
  
  Now, Fairmind since your "heart of heart" feelings about sexuality jive with most current teachings it is not surprising that it seems like a "non issue" to you, and that's ok. I would just ask that you maintain an open mind regarding such matters because there are other very authorative opinions on this.
  
  As long as one is practicing being a good hearted Christian, maintaining a loving relationship with whomever one chooses, helping the indigent, and being humble we should all get along. Let's focus on the things that make us stronger together than weaker individually.

  Update -- wife given permission new union without my permission

  since my last post i found out that my wife lied to get a "vow of faithfullness with another man.

  in march of 2004 she asked me to sign an agreement document to give to a lawyer in order to get our marriage annulled.

  i agreed only on her promise not to give it to the congregation to be with another man but only for her lawyer.

  Anger is all a part of the human experience. It sounds like it was a painful split for you but as the days, and weeks progress I'm sure you will continue your emotional healing process. If it makes you feel better to rant a little bit, I'm sure everyone here will be supportive. That's what friends are for. To listen to each other...even if we are being a bit irrational. Live is an incredible gift with some amazing highs, and some crushing lows.

  thruout the bible god gets reports from angels, satan etc about whats going on here on earth.

  you have the opportunity to show god whats going on in your area, your experience etc.

  I would show him what is happening in my 10 block neighborhood. I have lived here for 6 years and never once a knock on the door or a magazine in the door. I work out of my house so I am home during "normal witnessing hours" probably 85% of the time.....FOR 6 YEARS.
  
  So what else do the witnesses do? Oh that's right nothing!!! Some of the other religious groups? The Unitarian Church I associate with sought out local help for "construction related experience" to help build the Buddhist Temple. When the Temple was "dedicated" hundreds from the community attended. It sought volunteers to help run the "soup" kitchen for those less fortunate. It also took lead role in organizing volunteers for a local community event.
  
  The local Baptist Chuch down the street sent me a mailer and called on the phone to see if I had anything to donate to help a local family that lost things in a fire.
  
  One of the beach community churches had a "come help us clean up the beach day" open to all to help.
  
  So the witnesses have shown the preaching work to be severely lacking.
  
  Other groups, are feeding the poor, helping build community, helping to clean and maintain our enviroment, and helping those suffering diasters.
  
  "By their own works may you judge them".

  "Crisis of conscience"

  i am going to the library in a day or two to pick up the book "crisis of conscience" they got in for me because i have read everyones opinions on the book....... i am not sure what to expect when i read it.......

  It's a great book. I read it originally about 15 years ago but just reread the new updated version 6 months ago.
  
  I used to play with Peter Gregerson's son when I was little, and I remember alot of the furor surronding this. I remember all the talk and what not going around and then my parent's telling me Peter got DF'd for APOSTACY....
  
  After reading this book it helped me really place pieces parts of what really was going on back then.... it makes me sick to my stomach what they did to everyone mentioned in the book in the name of Jehoba.
  
  While I have not met Brother Franz I commend him on his out spokeness. In my opinion he isn't out to grind an axe with the society. Just a letter explaining his side of the story.

  More fun with witness urban myths.....

  i have heard many urban myths associated with the watchtower society and its hapless adherents.

  i like the one where an "interested one" accepted the invitation to attend the memorial one year, and sat next to a "sister" who let the confused attendee use her bible to look up scriptures as they were presented.

  afterword, the "sister" walked the man up to the circuit overseer, who had delivered the talk that year, and introduced the dupe-filled "study" to the co. the co complimented the man on his spiritual interest and asked what impelled him to come up and talk to him.

  When we were cleaning out the KH one Sat afternoon because we needed to make room for a new CO * the KH had a nice 800 sq. foot apartment for the CO's*...we ran across a bunch of old records from either a prior CO or Bethel visit or whatever.
  
  My friend David and I were both 16 at the time and having fun with all of this. *Keep in mind we were also trying to look busy so as not to do a whole lot of work*. Anyway when one of the elders saw the records *Worldly Music keep in mind* he told us to break the records and throw them away.
  
  When the elder's wife asked us how it was going we said that the records were tough to break and going slowly. We showed her how hard the records were to break....but with a good heave ho, they would break.
  
  Somehow at the following meeting this event became that David and I ran across some "obviously Satanic music" in God's house and in the process of destroying it found it unbelievably difficult to destroy. David and I were snickering in the back row. This then later became a rallying point that someone obviously was trying to "sneak in" Satanic influences into the KH....thus why the KH was having problems.
  
  I never knew old Elvis, Deep Purple, and the Beatles were so evil. I still laugh about those kooks!
