for more than 10 minutes... i get the urge to go find the nearest elder and grab him by his ugly necktie and yell at him.. i gotta go take my meds now..
What would you say???
they buzzed my flat, saying they were interested in talking to people who were concerned about the ecomonic/financial situation or environmental situation.. they showed/gave me what does the bible really teach.. they aske me when did i last see a jw,i said about a year ago,to which he said he was surprised.
.
Sounds like you're going to be a return visit! Be prepared for many more buzzes! Whoo - Hoo!
the grandma just got some instructions from one of the elders on how to handle babysitting her infant grandchild.
when the daughter brings the baby to the house, she should hand it to the grandpa.
(that's ok because grandpa has never been baptized).
Congratulations to Gma for finding a way around the stupid rules and opening her arms and heart to her grandchid . . . hopefully, she'll keep them open wide enough to hug her daughter too!

both jim and marilyn [penton] were becoming increasingly unhappy with the leadership of jehovah's witnesses during the late 1970s, however.
neither believed the watch tower society's assertion that the present world would probably end in 1975, and both were taken aback by the fact that for years the society refused to admit any fault in the matter.
both also became distressed over the watch tower's methods of cajoling ordinary witnesses into going preaching from door to door, the society's lack of love and concern for ordinary persons, and the mistreatment of their older son, david, for attending university.
Nice to know that there are people out there with their thinking caps on! Too many people I know would've just turned on them without taking the time to find out what was going on!
pox news is proud to report that thousands of americans united together to simultaneously drop their pants and pee on pictures of president obama.
although many democrats found this to be offensive, the pee party participants defended their actions.
"this is not anti-obama, it is anti-overspending by the government," said noted radio host flush limbaugh.
Somewhere R. Kelly is thinking - "Now that's my kinda party!"
one of the most disturbing aspects of the organisation for me is that the watchtower leaders prefer legalistic, harsh, pharasaical interpretations on a range of doctrines/policies that have the potential to severely harm peoples lives, when there are more loving and reasonable positions/interpretations that could easily be adopted by the governing body without feeling they were betraying the scriptures.. for example:.
1. blood transfusions a clear no-no scripturally, a gross sin worthy of disfellowshipment (harsh, pharasaical legalistic approach) - or - it's debateable and we can't be sure.
dogmatism not appropriate in matters of life or death.
And unfortunately, by extention, many elders over the years have also adopted a "beat 'em till they bleed" mentality. I've always been amazed how a seemingly "loving" brother becomes a beast when dealing with a judicial matter - a doctor jeckel/mr hyde - so much for those fruits!
i've decided to write a series of articles aimed not at jws or ex-jws, but non-jws caught in the "crossfire" between the individual and the organization.
too often the loved ones of ex-jws feel like they're on the sidelines when it comes to religious issues.
i wanted to help the woman who's husband still won't decorate the christmas tree, the man who's wife will cook a ham but won't hide eggs for the kids on easter, or just anyone wondering why their significant other is being shunned by his/her family at the behest of a book publishing corporation.
interesting! I'm off to do a little reading there.
