  I've reached a turning point in my life

  last may, i finally admitted to myself that i am an atheist.

  to me, being an atheist means that i don't believe any of the silly nonsense that puny humans have come up with.

  many of the religions of man were started during a time when mental illnesses went undiagnosed and misunderstood, a time when man couldn't explain why lightning struck the earth or why rain fell.

  A hint? Learn to be quiet inside and have no activity related to ones own self current in the mind , no selfish activity at all , only the desire to HEAR God or connect to god for the sole purpose of making the creator pleased ,

  When you can stop being so much a part of this world God will give you the hint you desire

  Funny, I was reading your first paragraph and thought I'd point you to that Asimov story, since it seemed relevant. I loved that story, my hubby read it to me one night, it made my heart warm.

  Graves of loved ones - JWs allowed to visit?

  this is not a question about attending funerals.

  is it permissible for jws to visit the graves of their loved ones if they merely want a moment's reflection on the departed?.

  is it permissible for jws to do this on the anniversary of the death?.

  Hi Inquisitor. I've never heard this mentioned (unusual, since just about every situation that comes up in life is mentioned and commented on and made a 'conscience issue'. While a witness I never actually had anybody close to me die, so it never came up. But thinking about it... I think that it would be unusual for a JW to be told off for visiting a gravesite. If they were worried about that happening, they just shouldn't tell anybody they're going.

  WT in the business of selling cars????

  i just received an email from a friend with pictures of what seems to be a wt-approved or wt-connected used car business.. this friend is telling us that the cars being sold are those previously used by circuit overseers.

  he's giving us some links and pictures, but i haven't had the time to investigate, so i thought to put them up here for discussion.. the web address of the business is, quite appropriately, www.circuitleasing.com.

  So, this is a business that leases cars to COs using congregation donations to the worldwide work, then sells them on when they've reached their no-longer-new status?

  In Oz I think the CO vehicles are still purchased, and it's only a new arrangement. It's been too long since I was at a meeting for me to know how often the cars are turned over and sold.

  Did You Really Listen?

  i was told that more than once .... as a witness with "all the answers," were you really listening to people pouring their heart out to you?

  or were you just thinking of the perfect, scriptural response?.
