  i have been with my boyfriend for 3 years, we started dating in high school and now i am going to college and he is working.

  i am 20 and he is 21, i was raised catholic but my mom and i are too open minded for the church so we left.

  she opened with "we are just going door to door talking to people about how we are using up the earths resources...." ha!!

  It isn't easy. Half the time they don't want to talk anyway, they just want to make their presentation, be rejected and find every other door unanswered for the day. I keep it simple and polite: "My mother became a Jehovahs Witness, and it destroyed her life and tore our family apart." It happens to be true.

  Your JW Baptism

  i was 16 years old when i got baptised - 1992 - it was at one of the two day assemblies.

  only a few of us got baptised.

  i pulled out the pictures - there i stood proudly with a friend of mine in our cosies (shirts over) towels wrapped around us.

  finnish co was sentenced for three years for molesting little girls in estonia and his finnish congregation years 2003 to 2005. man had been a co in estonia.

  the mother was not believed at first, but laughed at.

  Haven't seen NiceGuy here for ages, and he hasn't posted on YouTube for a while either. I asked him about it; I'm glad for him. He's a long way out of that now, and getting on with life.

  so, i went to an ex jw meetup last night & the weirdest thing happened.

  one of the elders that went over my questions for baptism with me, was there.

  and i don't live in a small area.

  Hi and welcome. My pure speculation is that for every dozen still-angry-after-all-these-years ex-JWs there are a hundred more who have managed to put it behind them entirely. People come and go from sites like this all the time; many people manage to move on within a year or two. Some of us take longer. Some never shake it at all. It's a little sad, but not the saddest thing in the world.

  I am expecting trouble

  i give less and less a shit about what the jw's want or say or do.

  i love my family and since my wife is still in although also inactive her rabid family is making the fade tough since i love and respect her dad.
