I believe at least 1 in 4 or more JW's are likely to have a mental illness.

how to live with JW
by freefly inhey,.
my partner in life (26yrs) has been converted to jw by his mother.. i am not one to whine -as very aware many have more troubles in their life.. i suppose one of my fears has been this exactly- as i know he was raised jw and should have saw the "signs.
" he always regularly visited with his mom, which i respected as felt a good sign he had a mother/son relationship.

Wish you much luck in a very difficult situation. My advice would be to stick around for a while--maybe he will lose that post-911 fear that another poster mentioned. And I like the idea to feign interest but question every single belief. Hope things work out for you for your best interests.

Well all mine were mentioned already--I was going to say Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, especially Paris Hilton. I am so sick of seeing her face on tv and on the magazine covers in the stores. What the hell has Paris accomplished with her life so far that is meaningful? And who cares if Britney is pregnant--she's a superstar robot cutout. And Tom Cruise--cannot stand him, he's so full of himself.

You people really make me want to travel.
My favorite place is staying at a cabin at Sea Ranch, California. There is forest, hills, meadows, and ocean, and lots of wildlife. Most of the rental houses have beautiful views, some have hot tubs and more. When I was younger I spent a lot of time climbing around the tide pools at low tide--awesome stuff! I have a memory of one morning out in the tide pools seeing a huge group of purple sea urchins glowing in the morning sunshine.

The JW new world system scum
by greendawn inwe now know that the new system of things as imagined by the jws is a myth, a poison that's meant to seduce the unaware into the org so that they can then be controlled, abused, and exploited.
but during the time when you were taken in by the myth what sort of things were you imagining about this delightful new world and your participation in it?
or perhaps deep down you never really believed it and ignored it.

LMAO
Boy Howdy did I ever get a shock as '75 receeded into the distant past and reality came a knock'n. Perfect for me now would be any female who says a kind word to my ugly ass as I feed them grapes and clean up after them.

Thanks for the info EF. It's sad how people make up rumors that ruin other people's reputations, but it happens all the time. If I end up in a coma, I don't want to come out of it 20 years later and be deformed and not remember my family--that would be sad. I'm going to make a will and specify not to keep me going under those circumstances.

I had a lot of fantasies as to what it would be like. But I do remember thinking how some of the JWs would be a lot less irritating if they were growing toward perfection
Does anyone remember all the stupid dronings of whether aborted babies were going to be resurrected? If you stop and think about it--how is a baby that is not fully formed supposed to be resurrected? Resurrected into some JW's womb? Ha Ha How stupid.

Male or Female
by love2Bworldly ini have been reading over the forum today and something hit me.
because i don't look up everyone's histories, there are people i assumed were either male or female--partly based on their avatar and partly based on the type of comments they make.
well guess what folks--i was shocked to find out i was wrong about a few people.. does anyone else out there decide that certain posters are male or female, and then find out they're wrong?

Greendawn--I have to let you in on a little secret. Hee Hee You are the one who inspired me to start this thread when I realized on something you posted that you were male. I am really cracking up because we all perceive things differently. When I see your name and avatar--the woman is dominant in the picture and I never even noticed the knight until you mentioned it. And I guess I probably thought your name was Dawn. I'm sorry but it's cracking me up that I was so wrong especially when I read your explanation of why you chose your name.

I think it's called KISS. I like Prince and love some of his music. But I listen to a lot of musicians that in real life are weirdos.
