  Dub Conspiracy Theories

  what are some paranoid dub conspiracy theories that you've heard?

  a dub i chatted with a week ago got all frothing-at-the-mouth excited as he told me one.

  some people are trying to have a law passed in canada that will make any gay's who want to serve in a priesthood of their church allowable, regardless of the church's policy.

  I remember an elder explaining to me that in Revelation when it talks about the merchants mourning the end of Babylon the Great, that it had to do with the governments doing away with holidays like Christmas because of all the money the stores wouldn't make anymore.

  Anyone hear that one? My opinion is that even if the governments did away with religion, they would still celebrate holidays, they would just call it something else. Just like some of the offices I have worked in call the Christmas Party, the "Winter Party" etc.

  Going to a District Convention Undercover, suggestions?

  i'm still undesided but leaning towards going to a few dcs under the cover of a worldly person(i'm really a df'd evil apostate .

  i'm a worldy person that is in love with a jw sister who i work with, we have dated and even have been intimate(that outa perk up the ears of any hatchet man elder), and now she refuses to see me any more unless i become a jw, she encouraged me to go to this convention, but is afraid to be seen with me because she doesn't want people in her congregation to know she has a boy friend.

  i think that kind of story would grab the interest of many sisters or brother and allow me to ask some hard questions about the organization and even allow me to bring up some things i found on the internet about dates and such and not be viewed as an apostate.

  I just had a thought. If the tracts being left had nothing but Watchtower quotes and nothing else--the JWs could read it without a bad conscience. Technically--it wouldn't be Apostate material, right?

  New System Sewage

  i was thinking this weekend.. how will sewage treatment be handled in the new system?

  i assume mature brothers will be assigned the privilege of working at sewer treatment plants for shifts of 1000 years or so.

  My last District Convention (I hope) ... observations

  so last weekend was my last district convention.

  i plan on breaking the news to my wife real soon.

  nowadays even at the meetings my blood pressure raises and my back gets all tense as i sit and listen to some of the stuff we are supposed to believe.

  WT Armageddon Drawings Described as "Aluring"

  this guy is currently undergoing bible study and before his critical thinking capabilities were utterly destroyed, he seemed to do a bit of research on wtbts on the internet, where he contacted me regarding rand cam shares owned by the wt.

  i was happy to answer his questions and gave him some bonus material on the united nation's deal.

  some days latter, he wrote back asking me if i considered the jw doctrine to be a cult, so i indulged him and sent him well written documents i found on freeminds.org as well a link to quotes, where he seemed to have spent some time looking at the armageddon picture gallery.

  Those pictures are disturbing! What really creeped me out was the 1st picture listed on Jgnat's link from the 'Enemies' book. The Witnesses look like a crowd of people doing the 'Hile Hitler', it's very cultish looking and actually gave me chills.

  i have vaig memories of a christmas, but other than that, being a jw was all i know.

  she begged me to stay but i knew it would be easy just to give in (again).

  Because the Watchtower Society says it's a sin to be in the company of zebras unless they stay in the parlor.

  no one to talk to

  i guess this is my introductory post.. like many of you, i was raised as a witness.. like many of you, i'm no longer associated with them.. it still hangs over me like a plague.

  it's really annoying.

  i haven't been to a meeting in 4 years, i'm "out of the closet" - my parents know i'm no longer interested, my oldest brother won't talk to me... etc.

  Welcome! Understand your feelings as I left the JWs when I was 22ish and had no 'worldly' friends. I've come out of my shell--used to be very shy, and it's become easier to make friends. I've only been on the forum for a couple months, but really enjoy meeting the people here through the computer. Hope to meet some in person some day.

  i have to laugh, just heard from 2 dub friends that proceeded to tell me this is a sign.

  california has had 4 earthquakes in the last 3 days.

  so all of you still on the fence.straighten upcant be long now.

  Even if the earthquakes are related to Biblical predictions, whatever happens will not be what the Jdumbers think. Funny though, when I saw the morning news today I was thinking 'Oh brother, the JWs are probably all excited right about now.'
