Be patient, and be careful what you say to your parents! I know it's hard not to speak your mind when the WBTS is so full of you-know-what, and you sound like a person who is true to their word. Tread lightly until you can support yourself. And never give up on school! (just a little motherly advice.)

I FEEL YOUR PAIN!
by spidey9322 inmuch to my surprise when i found this site...i noticed that many have experienced the same typr of humiliation, asn despaid as i have throughout my 36 years on this earth.
in reading some of these stories (even after being out of the truth) for over 20 years...it still brings chills to my spine about how i was treated.

Welcome Spidey!! I like your nickname. So many people overcome their past to have a successful life. You have a PhD!!! That is awesome!!! Wish you well in your new relationship. Sorry your mom was so cruel & heartless, unfortunately the JW religion seems to encourage dysfunctional family lives.

All I can say is WOW. I got a stomach ache while I read your story, thinking about you as a defenseless little girl. You have been through hell on earth. I hope your life is more meaningful these days, and full of sunshine. I don't know what else to say......

What nicknames were you given when you were a J/W by schoolmates/workmates?
by pobthespazz inespecially if you were raised as a dub like me, well i was called a muslim, holy joe, a jahoodsoon, all seems funny now but torture when you was the only dub in the whole school.

In high school they called me 'straight laced' because I never cussed or dated etc.
For my name, I was called Betty Spaghetti, or due to being a redhead I was called strawberry head or carrot top or just red. It's funny those nicknames wouldn't bother me today, but I was pretty sensitive when i was young and got my feelings hurt easily. What I really hated was when I would go to the county fair and the game carnies would keep screaming Hey Red to try to make me turn around and look so I ignored them.

New&Sad--very sorry to hear about how you have been treated, it's very unChristian and unkind. Jesus & God love you and have already forgiven you a long time ago.
I was reinstated and then faded, but the JWs I used to know treat me like I am disfellowshipped and don't speak to me. My sister doesn't speak to me anymore either. So getting reinstated is not all it's cracked up to be, but you need to do what's best for you.
Drinking problems are pretty common in the JW religion, partly because of the stress people are under trying to please the elders, the congregation & the Watchtower Society, in other words--trying to please men and not God. You are brave and taking a big step to get a handle on your issues, YOU CAN DO IT! But only if you have a big enough support group that includes nonJWs. I suggest that even if you plan to get reinstated, that you join AA, maybe get some personal counseling, and do all you can to build friendships outside the Kingdom Hall by having hobbies or different interests or taking classes.
I wish you much luck and hope to hear more posting from you!

Name "UNWRITTEN" Rules That JWs Are Supposed To Follow
by minimus inas with the scribes and pharisees, there are a number of unwritten rules that witnesses are supposed to follow.
here's a couple : "worldly" kids in society depictions are shown quite often wearing their baseball caps backwards.
jehovah's witness youths would not want to imitate that "look".
