Anyone who adamantly does not believe in "ghosts", has never had an experience to make them believe. I have had experiences, so I am a believer.

New York Tourist Crap Highlights The Watchtower buildings in Brooklyn
by steve2 inwell i'm a day shy of having spent one week in new york - my first time.
what a dazzlingly vibrant and noisy city - one that never sleeps.
new yorkers rightly proclaim this metropolis as one of a kind.

So, does the Watchtower Society allow the general public "worldly people" to tour Bethel?

Depression & natural ways to deal with it
by love2Bworldly ini was on prozac for about 10 years, and finally went off all meds about 18 months ago.
the prozac was causing me to have manic episodes, so they added a bipolar medicine as well as a sleep aid, and the bipolar medicine made me dizzy & nauseaus.
so now i work really hard at exercising regularly, i take a lot of natural supplements including natural lithium & megadoses of omega upon advice of a homeopathic doctor.

Thank you for all the great responses & suggestions. I am pretty sure I am bi polar, but not the type to end up in a straight jacket, my doctor told me I am a "functioning" bipolar, whatever that means. I guess it means I get up & go to work every day LOL
I have been getting more & more serious this past year about my eating habits, cutting out caffeine, health supplements-- vitamins, etc. For 2 months now, I have been visiting the gym regularly & I am feeling so much better about my body & life in general. I do meditate, although not nearly often enough, and your responses have encouraged me to get back into it daily, to help me with anxiety.
I also read a lot of Dr. Daniel Amen, who is a brain doctor, who teaches people to change their lifestyle & eating habits to have a healthier brain, and he has been a phyciatrist for many years. He is a very smart guy.
Thanks again all, I just need a little encouragement from time to time.

Dysfunctional witness families
by concerned2 inbeing raised as a jw i feel dirty even posting here.
my life growing up was one filled with fear.

Concerned2-- so sorry for your situation. I am finding that most families are dysfunctional in one way or another irregardless of the religion.
The problem with the JWs is that they teach it is better to be around other JWs no matter what, even if they are child molesters/child abusers in any form/gossipers/liars/thiefs etc etc etc., and just plain people that are dysfunctional & don't make good friends or friends who are there for you when you need them through hard times.
Most of my family are not JWs, only one sister is. But she along with my other siblings, are so mentally ill/negative/back stabbers/liars etc etc, that I don't visit any of them because it is not healthy for me. I choose to be around people who lift my spirits & make me laugh.

Oh, and also-- listening to any type of music I feel like and not caring what type of morals the entertainers have, because I could not care less!!!
Making true friends who are not phony, based on religion.
I could go on, and on, and on, and on.............................................

Well my first act of rebellion was to attend an office Christmas party at the age of 21 where I proceeded to get smashed off my butt on champagne, dance all night, & had to be carried up the stairs to my apartment by my co workers. Best night of my life!!! That's the act that got me disfellowshipped, and 3 elders told me "the charge is public drunkeness" LOL
Since then my favorite act of rebellion is to take care of my sexual needs myself on occasion with no guilt, only pleasure. It's so natural, it's very silly how religions make such a big deal out of it.

What Is The Most Absurd JW Belief or View?
by minimus inthere are many silly doctines and viewpoints.. one of the strangest ones is the blood doctrine.. why anyone could logically accept this belief is beyond reason..

Sorry I could go on and on with this thread. How about, we shouldn't watch ET because he has been likened to Jesus with his special powers, and his finger is a phallic symbol LOL That one took the cake for me.
