  jehovah's witnesses as an organization have never covered up such a thing, and that is a bunch of ridiculous crap.

  maybe you were molested, but you probably liked it.

  anyone that does such a thing is removed from the congregation.

  Now Elders Are Making Elderly & Infirm Feel Guilty For "Being Hooked Up"!

  my mom as well as a few others are "hooked up by phone" to the meetings.

  lately, the elders are saying in their talks that if a brother or sister could be at the meetings but instead are "hooked up", then they are hurting jehovah by not having regular association with the "friends" at the kingdom hall.

  On a POSITIVE note ...

  i have felt that this site is therapeutic for me, in that i can give voice to feelings that i have heretofore had to keep inside.

  i also enjoy reading other's stories and learning that i am not alone.

  although, many of us feel that we have wasted our lives on wt, there may also be a very positive side.

  I agree too. I really enjoy the simple things, celebrating Christmas gets me more excited than my kids--I decorate my whole house, cook all kinds of things, drive around to look at lights. I went through 2 bad marriages that were not JW, so now I really enjoy the fact that my new husband is not a secret drug user or drinker--I am really happy being married for once. So I don't take anything for granted. I'm also thankful that my kids are growing up and are pretty good kids, and are not exposed to the BS society.

  Did losing your religion send you into/exacerbate depression?

  i think most of us here agree that our past belief in the jw organization as being god's sole chosen people was delusional on our part.

  for myself, when i lost that delusion (fairly abruptly too), i came out of a long period of depression immediately.

  while i was incredibly angry at having been decieved, i can't say that that anger translated into any other negatives, in fact, overall, i think my general level of anger, even at elders/the gb/etc subsided, as i now understood why they do what they do even better than they themselves understand it.

  Candilynuts--I am so sorry for what you went through. Are you ever able to see your kids? (not being nosy just wondering)

  I was already suffering from depression and the JW thing just made it worse. My life felt surreal until I started taking Prozac. Now I'm thinking that if my parents were good parents (they weren't JWs they were just negative, nutty and neglectful to their kids), I probably would not have become involved with them in the first place. I think I was looking for something to take the place of the family life I didn't have.

  I have only been researching the internet this past year so I know now beyond a reasonable doubt that I'm glad I left years ago. People in 'Babylon the Great' churches are more friendly than the JWs because it's not fake or based on your standing in the Kingdumb Hell or how many hours you spend preaching the 'good news'.

  Human hair balls

  for all of you that have family pets ,did ya ever wonder how much animal hair you drink,swollow.

  in the morning i pour my coffee and have to check for dog hair floating and there is always dog hair floating, i try to pick it out but wonder ,did i get it or is it now floating somewhere is my cup .

  even eating ,do you ever wonder how much of your animal 's hair you have injested through out the day?.

  This is really grossing me out so early in the morning! I have a very hairy cat myself. He keeps eating rubber bands and I see them in his poop when I clean his catbox. Why do they eat such nasty stuff? One time he got sick because a rubber band was stuck in his booty hole for a few days, I didn't know what was wrong until he pooped it out and his hiney was a little bloody.

  it's truly a wonderful sense of freedom.

  what i'd like to know from you guys is when you left, what did you do then?

  Welcome and congratulations that you are learning the truth about the 'Truth'. You will find that a lot of people who have left the JWs are in the position of not being interested in any kind of organized religion--but everyone is different.

  I do still believe in the Bible and am reading 'The New International Version' on my own. But I still have issues with organized religions who claim they have all the answers. I feel there is more than one spiritual path to find God. I do celebrate all holidays with enthusiasm and love my country and don't believe in shunning people. I am at peace with myself and am much happier than I ever was as a JW--who teach that a person is never good enough for God and 'maybe' you might be saved.

  Good morning, how are you today? The reason I am stopping by today is to try to convert you to be a Jehovah's Witness, also because I have to turn in my monthly report of how many hours I spend harrassing people like you on a Saturday morning.

  If you study with me and become a baptised JW, this is what your life will be like from now on: you will attend 3 meetings a week and spend your weekends preaching for at least 10 hours a month or you will be called a low-hour publisher, if you do not count any hours we shall call you an irregular publisher--if you are a man you will wear a 3 piece suit and tie to do so, if you are a woman you will wear long dresses or skirts with pantyhose; you must underline your Watchtower article and comment at the Sunday meeting in order to look like a good JW; if any of our members sexually assault your children you will not be allowed to report it and the victims will be punished for calling the police; you and your spouse will only be allowed to do the missionary position in your bedroom, if you engage in other sexual practices you must confess the details to our elders; you should not listen to worldly music or watch movies that are not rated G; you will have to try to convert all your non-JW friends and relatives--otherwise you may not enjoy their company; you will have to cease Pagan activities but only the ones we will give you on a list; you must not follow Jesus as your leader but must follow the Governing Body; you will not be allowed entry into heaven or partake of the emblems at the annual Memorial--only a few older people who have been JW's since 1900 are allowed to go to heaven; you must not grow a beard if you are a man, if you are a woman it's ok to grow facial hair; you must not watch Star Wars because it's violent and people make a religion out of the Dark Force, or ET because his finger is you know, a phallic symbol; you must marry only another baptised goody goody JW, and if your husband beats you until you are black and blue he is still your family head and you must submit to him; if you are a minor and your goody goody JW parents beat you until you are black and blue--you probably deserved it because you should not 'withhold the rod from your sons'; if you have a 6 month old baby--spank the baby if he/she makes noise during our holy meetings; if you break any of our rules you must report the details to our elders so they can promptly disfellowship you, oh by the way that means any friends and family JWs you have can never speak to you again--if you are not a minor your parents should kick you out immediately--this is our way of showing love so that you will want to hurry back to get reinstated.

  i have been posting here for 6-8 months i guess.

  it has been the best therapy i could have had.. i wish we could have a great big party and meet all the posters here in person.

  i have not agreed with all, but i have been so aided in my recovery from the mental prison that is the wtbts by all your comments.
