  It's one of many reasons I divorced 2 spouses. They both did drugs secretly behind my back, knowing that I did not approve of that lifestyle. They became more controlling, mean, and abusive over time, so I divorced both of them. I could never figure out why they didn't choose someone that had things like drugs in common with them--but maybe it's because now one is homeless and the other one lives with his Mommy, and they are both in their 40's.

  I have 3 beautiful children by these 2 idiots, and they are not allowed to have visitation because of drugs, alcohol, and violence. Of course now that I'm older and wiser, I realize that I have co-dependency issues--but I did not know when I married them that they were drug users.

  I always felt such relief when my 2 hours of Saturday morning chore was done. I never felt real joy--but it eased my conscience. I felt guilty on weekends when I didn't do it. I cared about it less and less as time went on and especially after I had kids. Eventually I just faded away and quit turning in a monthly report, no one harrassed me about it though.

  Maybe someone should call the Society and let them know a prominent elder is forecasting the big A to come this summer and see what kind of response you get. At least tell the person who answers the phone that this is why they are losing their membership, false predictions over and over again.

  In a couple of months, you should chat with your neighbor again and remind her of your conversation. :-)

  love11--I really feel sorry for the kids of your neighbors. My kids are older now, but I used to really get annoyed when other people were always telling me what was bad for my kids when they were young--Pokeman, WWF Wrestling, Harry Potter, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, video games, etc etc. I try not to be an overprotective parent but try to be balanced, and what do you know--my kids are turning out great! Better than a lot of JW kids I grew up with. My kids are very smart, and WWF Wrestling and Buffy did not make them turn out to be violent.
