when that gut feeling turns out to be right.............
by happehanna in.
i was concerned about my friend and worried as they hadn't returned my calls or emails, so i thought i would travel to see him, and find out if my bad feeling was nothing to worry about.. he had died and i will miss him, i knew, my insides knew and it hurts.. he was my secret and it seems to hurt more as i have no-one to share the grief with.

I'm Happy Today
by Why Georgia in.
well today is my wonderful husbands' birthday.. when we were first together he didn't want presents, cake, no celebration at all.. last night he was so excited about his gifts he opened one in the middle of the night.
he wants pizza for his birthday dinner and to go out for ice cream instead of a birthday cake.. i just feel happy that he's come so far and doesn't see birthdays as some evil happening.. wg

Wife's weight problem
by dangel ini amlooking for advice.
before getting married, my wife was slim and took care of herself.
after the wedding however, she started to eat much more and not exercise.

Funny but I kind of have the opposite problem of what is being talked about here. Whenever I take walks, my husband (who is diabetic and has gained some weight) refuses to walk with me and sometimes pouts as if he is jealous that I am taking some initiative with my health. Sometimes it's very discouraging as I need to shed at least 45 pounds.

Thanks for the update! And for making my day, as I spend all day today being thankful that I don't have to ever attend one of these again.

Getting out of the WT
by helios incan anyone tell me if there has ever been a case of jw relatives kidnapping another relative who wished to leave the cult.
even if the restraint only lasted a few hours.
i have an account of a rather stunned female jw who was put under what she described as " house arrest" until the judicial committee threw her out officially.

Nothing surprises me anymore after all I've learned. It just makes me despise the WS even more.

Reminds me of the Jaws movie when the local sheriff could not get the county officials to close down the beach for people's safety; they might lose tourist money.

Jehovah's Witness! Nothing but a period in the world novel.
by free2beme inoften, more so then not, my former witness friends have the habit of wondering why more people do not hear or know about things witnesses do in modern history.
yet in time, from being on boards like this one and from knowing far more people that are not witnesses, then ones that are or were.
the crazy acts of the early 1900's that gained public attention, were replaced with a more invisable conformed organization that really does very little to be noticed.

It's funny when I was a JW, I thought they were so well known and always seen door-to-door. But now I hardly ever see JWs out going door-to-door, but I often see Mormons on their bikes. So much for the 'great increase' that the BS society used to always talk about.

S*its about to hit the fan with my in-laws
by pratt1 inbrief history:.
both my wife and i have faded from the borg for about 10 years.
we still maintain close relationhips with the dubs in our family on both sides.. my wife's sister has not only faded, but she has become an ordained minster, thus my mother in law calls her an "apostate" and refuses to have any contact with her.. her 4 year old daughter will stay with my family for about 2 weeks in august.

I think it's a bad idea to go against a parent's wishes. The little girl's mother should have the say-so or it could cause a lot of harm to your wife's relationship with her.

My question is, what do you consider fat and unattractive? I am hoping to shed at least 40 pounds in the next year as I am not happy with my body and the way I feel--I feel more sluggish and tired. But I consider myself attractive and not a fat slob. What grosses me out is when I see women that are at least 100 pounds overweight, their hair is unkempt, their clothes are ugly, and they pretty much just don't care about the way they look. As for me--especially because I feel fat, I always make sure my nails are done, my hair looks nice, my make-up is on, etc.
