Dansk--I think your response was perfect actually! The only reason that elder spoke to you was because you walked right by him and he was taken off guard. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Are You Afraid That Armageddon Is Going To Come Since Leaving "The Truth"?
by minimus ini'm not but i bet that there are some that quiety worry about it.....what about you?

I don't worry about Armageddon the way JWs talk about it; sometimes I wonder what the future holds for the world as far as events in the Middle East and whether it has anything to do with the Bible--but as time goes on I think more often than not that man is going to destroy himself by his own hands.

my story
by jaberwalkie inthis is a difficult thing for me to do, i used to be a jehovahs witness 20 years service as a pioneer.. last thursday it was announced from the platform at my local kingdom hall that i was disfellowshiped.. it was a bit of a shock.
i still have a deep sence of anger at what happened to me and its so unfair.. it started 3 years ago when i began to feel ill and i missed a couple of meetings.
the elders were wonderful and came round and cheered me up.

Sorry you are being treated like this by so-called 'friends'. A true friend is there in your time of need. Unfortunately, JWs can only be your friend if you are a regular publisher.

Came out to my parents
by jstalin injust wanted to write about my experience in coming out to my parents in the last two weeks.
it's a long story, but my sister and i are both gay, but we haven't come out to our parents until now.
my sister and i have been debating with each other the best way to come out to them because we've known that it would be a serious blow to them.

Wow--my respect for the Catholic Church just went up a few notches.
I wish you the best and hope your parents and you work everything out. I love my 3 kids more than life itself, and could never ever turn my back on them no matter what. Sometimes I wonder about my 19 year old daughter, because she likes men but has never been on a date and doesn't seem to care. She has a lot of friends, mostly female, and has always been very emotional about the subject of gays being accepted in society. I asked her a couple years ago if she was gay but she laughed at me and just said she could see why I would think that. Anyway, I will love her no matter what.

"You see, if your husband or another human with dangly bits isn't around when you pray with others listening, you can transfer headship to an inanimate item, such as a tissue, napkin, dishcloth or doily." Lisa--OMG I was cracking up so hard! That is absolutely hysterical! Thanks for all your comments--I knew this would end up being a thread that would give me the giggles. You guys have an awesome sense of humor! By the way--I was a little surprised at all the comments made that JWs were NOT supposed to have sex when they were separated. Once when I was separated from my nonJW spouse, the elders told me that even if it was 3:00am and my husband knocked on my door staggering drunk--I was to let him in and let him do whatever he wants to me. Oh that really made me feel so humiliated!

ChoosingLife-- Sorry for your situation, it sounds very difficult.
I'm not sure what advice to offer because I've never been in your situation. You might try a slow fade rather than quitting cold turkey--it's worked for some people. Wish you the best.

Is There Anything That You Still Believe In Because of the Witnesses?
by minimus ini still don't believe in hellfire.
i think astrology and palm reading is ridiculous.
that's a couple of things that i know i got from being a jw......what about you??

Still don't believe in hellfire, not sure about the Trinity, have a tendency to believe in creation--
I'm not sure about a lot of things, but the older I get the less I care or worry about it.

A bit reluctant
by saki2fifty ini'm a bit reluctant in writing this post, for i dont feel i should be here.
even a bit nervous... .
i've never officially dedicated myself to jehovah, but i was brought up in the truth, very strong, and at times when getting older, there were lulls in my attendance... yet to this day i still attend.

Hummingbird92725--
Just one comment, I am very curious about something. You feel very strongly about the love of the brotherhood in Jehovah's organization. Stop going to meetings for a few months and see if anyone notices or bothers to call you; more than likely, they will 'mark' you as bad association instead of trying to help you back to the meetings.

How much did you put in the contribution box?
by jayhawk1 ini think as the prices of gas, health care, housing and other things continue to rise, the jw without a great education will struggle to put much in the contribution box.
it got me to thinking, how much did my family put in the contribution box at the kingdom hall.
this is what i estimate for the final 5 years i went 1994-1999.... $10.00 per week for about 5 years.

I didn't give much monetarily, but they owned my soul and mind that's for sure.
