  Explain to a "Non JW", what it's like to be a JW

  where would you start?.

  i guess you could write a whole book on what is acceptable and what's wrong, and the consequences to your actions.

  you could also say all that you have to do and what you have to avoid..

  One of the things I share with people when discussing the JWs and the Watchtower Society, is that one of their biggest flawed teachings, is that they basically teach that if you attend all their meetings, read all their literature, go door-to-door and fill out a report every month, and be a good little JW, MAYBE JUST MAYBE you "might be spared on the day of Jehovah".

  Such a terrible, depressing, and frustrating way of life; to work so so hard for that unattainable salvation that you may or may not receive.

  Oh I remembered another one. Some JWs would color Easter eggs, only they would do it several months after Easter and do it just for fun.

  It's not ok to party with worldly relatives or friends on holidays because it's an evil pagan holiday and it's bad association;

  It's ok to party with the "friends" on holidays because it's upbuilding association and one has to eat food anyway so it can be viewed as a regular gathering

  I Saw Some JWs Last Night & They Gave Me The Cold Shoulder Like I Was Df'd

  i saw him, his wife and kids coming from a basketball game, going on the train.

  he looked right at me, i said, "hi!

  " and he put his eyes and head downward as if he couldn't say hello.

  I'm not disfellowshipped either, but JWs who see me act like I am. But at this point in my life, I don't give a **^%!#. And now my sister is shunning me because I let the cat out of the bag on how I really feel about the Witchtower Society.

  Have you heard: "Worldly people just live for the holidays"

  while i was a jw, around this time of year i would often hear jw's saying that non-jw's live only for their holidays, because that's all they have to look forward to.

  after all, they don't have the wonderful hope of living in paradise on earth forever under the loving direction of jehovah's organization !!

  so, for those of you who are former jw's or never were jw's, what would you say about that idea (wordly people only live for holidays), and why do jw's really say that?.

  I forgot about that scripture that talks about removing a straw from your brother's eye when a rafter is in your own eye.

  Sure sounds like the JWs to me. They're the ones with rafters in their eyes.
