  my husband and i were just wondering.......if a son, who is a jw, inherits a large sum of money from his non-jw parents, is he required by his kh or the wts to give a portion to them??.

  Thanks for all the answers! The thing is my husband & I want to have a will made soon, and my husband does not want to include our JW son. My husband's afraid our son will give part of it to the WTS.

  Bigdreaux - Your thoughts are my husband's thoughts EXACTLY.

  Being a mother, I am torn and a little heartbroken when I think about someday our children gathered at our attorney's office for the will reading. And our JW son finds out he gets nothing. I just don't know what to do. I definitely DO NOT want the WTS getting ANYTHING. The thought of him giving them part of his inheritance turns my stomach.

  Thanks again, you guys. You're always such a help! I hope we make the right decision.

  How come the JWs don't celebrate the Jewish Holidays?

  I can't figure out why they don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Come on....Thanksgiving! What possible reason could they have??

  In my humble opinion, I would say the true "test" of any religion, church, organization or person is to ask WHO they believe Jesus is. Jesus is the key. If they do not believe Jesus is God in the Flesh (Col. 2:9); if they do not believe Jesus died to save each one of us personally (John 3:16); if they do not believe Jesus is the only Way to the Father (John 14:6)......then that religion, church, organization or person is not Christian.

  now i'm even more confused...

  ok i started thinking tonight which is always a bad idea after i've had a long, really pressuring, day at work.

  but i've been in this sort of confused uncomfortable state lately about whether i believe in god or not.

  i finally got past the actual guilt of having these questions because i knew that was just what was drilled into my skull in my past.

  Hi Missanna,

  Please don't let the WTS (and your being deceived by them) ruin your relationship with God. This organization is not from God and not of God. They are not serving the True God of the Bible.....but only a counterfeit. The True God loves you more than you could ever know. There are a lot of different "views" on this board, but ultimately you'll have to find your own way and make your own decisions.

  OTWO, we have tried to expose the WTS to him, but as someone on this board told me "He is more afraid of losing his wife, than he is afraid of joining a cult". That is so true, I believe.

  Just because it seems you are losing the war, don't despair. You can have the positive
  outlook that, one day your son will wake up to the Watchtower deception. Never accept that
  this won't happen. His wife will probably leave it sometime near his exit.

  Middlechild: You're right; our family has never been associated with the WTS. I have educated myself concerning the org. and the more I learn about it, the more I realize how insidious it is.

  Well, that's good news that he won't be prohibited from seeing us. Boy, you know...as I just wrote that, it struck me how utterly RIDICULOUS that is! "Prohibited". This organization uses such CONTROL over its members.....and the sad thing is they don't even realize it! Ohhhhh, don't get me started......
