  What does it require to be a Saved Christian

  first you must have faith in something you can't prove is real.

  assured expectation of something you can't see.

  must talk to some god you can't see or hear.

  Hello Ken,

  The only requirement to becoming a saved Christian......is just giving your heart to Jesus. That's all He requires. It's so simple, but most people don't understand and think they have to jump through hoops to find God's Grace. He loves you more than you will ever be able to fathom, and His GIFT of eternal life is FREE.

  The 10% tithe should be a personal choice. Your salvation does not depend upon it. In our church, we have a little box at the back for tithes. Our pastor NEVER asks or begs for money. It is totally the choice of each family. Most people are happy to give something....anything....b/c we love our church and our pastor.

  Please don't "wait and see what death means when it comes".........

  What a pain-filled day it was......and still is. We were on our way to open our store that morning, when our son-in-law called & told us to turn on the car radio. When we got to the store, we turned on the TV....and couldn't believe our eyes.

  I remember our JW daughter-in-law was literally freaking out. She was convinced this was the start of Armegaddon! We tried to calm her, but she was SO terrified.

  My JW roommate and I were watching a program on cults the other night

  they were talking about how when you are in a cult, you are not allowed to think outside their 'box'.

  i didn't say anything and she says "that sounds just like the jw's doesn't it?".

  i just smiled and said yes...i was thinking that very thought but wasn't going to say anything.

  How Many of us Have Shared Our Stories on JWD ? Helps us Know you Better

  just thought of starting this thread because of the problem of living in an emotionally disconnected society as we do.

  some of us have shared our personal stories with you all, my wife and mine was , " the story of mr. & mrs. flipper ".

  i think it would be good to share some insight into ourselves , then perhaps others on the board will be understanding more deeply about posts that we start.

  I'm kinda different from most of you here, because I've never been a JW; nor any of my family. But, our son is married to a very nice JW gal, who has been putting pressure on him to join (probably because the Elders have been putting pressure on HER).

  Anyway, I LOVE to read your posts......especially from the people who are brand new. I really enjoy reading their stories of how they finally were able to see the WTS for it actually is......a very mind-controlling cult.

  This gives me HOPE and ENCOURAGEMENT that our son & his wife will someday wake up and realize they've been deceived by this very manipulative & destructive organization.

  You guys have always helped answer my questions & I appreciate all of you! Thanks, Mr Flipper, for allowing me to express this!

  A life or death question....

  our son is married to a jw gal.

  he's been "working toward" baptism (due to years of prodding by his wife), but we don't know if he is indeed baptized yet or not.. my question is: if our son was in an accident (god forbid) rendering him unconscious, and in need of blood.......could his wife prevent him from having a blood transfusion??

  could she prevent the transfusion even if he's not baptized yet??

  I just thought of this possible horrible situation today, and NEED TO KNOW where we, as his parents stand and what rights WE have.

  As a mother, if anyone (daughter-in-law, Elders, etc.) tried to prevent our son from a life-saving procedure, I'D SCRATCH THEIR EYES OUT!! I'm not a violent person. On the contrary, I'm kinda quiet and peace-loving, but NO ONE is going to tell us our son has to DIE rather than get a blood transfusion!! It's like messing with a mother bear's cub. You would do ANYTHING to protect your child.

  Pleeeeease tell us the legalities are on OUR SIDE.
