  Old Light, where do I look?

  i'm staying with my brother, he has a great library of the publications, as does my dad.

  what should i look for besides the jan 1 1989 wt and corresponding bound volume?.

  Ouija Board

  has anyone ever played with an ouija board?.

  is the game as dangerous as has been suggested by the wts all this while?

  wts seems confident that all inexplicable events associated with the game comes from a supernatural source, and not a psychological one.

  When I worked it, the plachette (not sure if that is spelled correctly) would move around and it would spell out tangible words and phrases or answer yes or no questions. To test it one time, me and afriend of mine would ask it a question for somebody else that only they knew the answer to and me and the other person working it did not know the answer to and it did spell out the answer; (an address of someoby they knew but we didnt know that person or what his address was and it spelled it out). That has happened a couple of times using it. I didn't think much of it but the person we answered the question to reacted as if she just got off a scary rollercoaster ride and didn't want to be around it anymore.

  I have played around with it off and on some but not really into it and more often it would just spell out nonsense so I dont know what all could be behind it.

  Whever I played with it with a friend it wouldn't work during the day but only at nighttime.

  I wasn't born in. I was 17 when I when I became an "approved associate" and baptized at 19; left for good around 30; left area several years later and now I only live a couple of hours away since I do keep in touch with my parents since they are getting older. However when I left I still believed it but didn't want to live in it and put up with other BS that went along with it anymore. It was to take control of my life and find out who I am and no longer feel confined by living in a small town.

  ok, i got a call tonight from an old friend i knew years ago when i lived in another city.

  i haven't seen him for 18 years although we have had occassional contact.

  he's coming in to toronto next week and wants to know if we can get together to catch up.

  I'm assuming that he's not an elder because he's not bringing a chaperone. I thought that "sisters and brothers" were not to be alone together? Did I miss something?

  Good lord, I'm not going to bang him! When we were friends 20 years ago, we spent alot of time alone---we'd go to shows, restaurants, the Theatre, skiing. One weekend, we drove to Whister, B.C. to attend a mutual friends' wedding---a 5 hour drive. All without a chaperone. Yes the elders used to "question" our friendship, because to their dirty minds, men and women couldn't just be "friends". But technically you're right. The Borg would very much frown on a married man having dinner with a single sister. However, I know from long experience that he would never try anything simply because I know he's never been attracted to me that way.

  Back when I was active a JW male would never accompany a gingle "sister" especially if the brother was an Elder; no ifs, ands or buts. It didn't matter how platonic a relationship was but I guess since he will be out of town and there is no chance in anybody he knows seeing him I guess he could let this policy slide. I always tell anybody I come across like that I just been too busy and inactive but my relatives who are still in keep me informed on what is going on.

  today i bought the most expensive thing i have ever bought.

  i bought a laptop computer for just under 500 - about $1000 i guess.

  it was on 12 months interest free credit so technically its not mine.

  i just read from the quotes website that the wts discourages people to play chess!

  i never knew that!lol they compare it to actual war and say it can make one competitive and aggresive.

  i've never read such bullshit, if i didn't know better, i would have thought that this was a mock article.
