  that was the one that always confused me.

  surely (in the controlling world of witnesses) the adulterous mate should forfeit the right to marry again.

  but no. within one or two years they're back at the meeting with their new spouse (often the co-respondant) and it's all tickety-boo.

  never could understand that one.

  Would you share a winning lottery ticket???..help please

  ok, so here is the situation...... yesterday, i had bought a scratch ticket and i won 20.00 bucks on it...i was heading back to the store to cash it in but, not all of it...i wanted $17.00 in cash and in addition i wanted another ticket..as i was heading out the door, my brother asked to come with me to grab a few things at the store as well...this was not a problem....he got into the van and we headed off to the store...once we arrived to the store, i was still smoking my cigarette so i asked my brother to cash in my ticket for me and grab me another ticket and my $17.00 bucks while i wait in the car.

  he said "sure, no problem"...at the same time, he asked me for a loan of $10.00 bucks.

  i gave him the money with no questions asked.

  you see, morty. if you had followed bible principles and had not engaged in the sin of gambling, then you would never have had to go through this anguish.

  you should just sit at home and study your literature, then go to the meetings and always be good and kind and then no bad things will ever happen to you.

  go on. study your watchtower. underline the answers. there, that's more fun than a nasty old scratch card, int it.

  lo and behold, someone doesn't think too highly of the ones who are looking for a mate!

  not exactly on topic, but elders with-holding info on people brought this to mind.

  when i was studying an elder approached me to see if his son's fiancee could lodge with me until they got married.

  she seemed nice enough and i agreed, after all she was introduced to me by an elder.

  it wasn't until much later that i found out that she had only just been reinstated and was a heavy drinker and immoral even by worldly standards.

  this elder would no doubt have been privy to this information and i suffered terribly as a result.

  make sure it's with "good" jw your chatting with, they said.. what they didn't say was, where the heck do you go to chat with a jw online?

  i've been looking at past posting about the un scandal and was wondering what the r&f dub knows about the situation.. have they all been fed the line about the library card or has there been no official announcement and been dealt with only if particular publishers bring the subject up?.

  is it an issue that has caused disquiet in the congrgation or is it still not known to a great extent by members?.

  Maybe the wt is trying to push the UN towards some action against them so they could say - "Oh, look - the UN disgusting beast is turning on us just as we prophesied!" I wouldn't put it past them to not 'wait on Jehovah' by trying to push God's time-table forward, according to their desired outcome.....

  do you know what? i thought exactly the same thing. but maybe they should be careful what they wish for.

  this thing should be a big issue to the r&f. they would be df'd for such involvement with the "image of the wild beast"

  i was always taught to see the un as satan's tool set up in opposition to god's kingdom.

  i hate to think that my relatives are still serving this bunch of hypocrites.

  i think i was marked for a couple of yrs, but the jws are in our neighborhood these days.

  i took a couple mags and gave my own little spiel (gently) a couple weeks ago.

  i'm thinking next time...i will be prepared.

  print out the letter from the un explaining that the wts was an ngo and agreed to promote the un from 1991 until 2001.

  also print out the two guardian newspaper articles about their involvement, the first that exposed this and the second, a day later that reported the wts, coincidentily, resigning from the un.

  thus prepared you can invite any and all publishers into your home. sit them down with a cup of tea and casually make them aware of the hypocrisy of their governing body and how they are being misled.

  if the message only gets through to one of them, you will have done a good thing.

  it's just that it was in the guardian newspaper here in the united kingdom so you would not have to visit anti jw websites and some jw's must read newspapers, so i wondered if a damage limitation excercise had begun.
