Funny antidote:
My sister lives in TO and once a bum walked straight up to her and asked "Can I have a buck, I really need to buy a beer"
She almost died laughing... he got what he asked for... she said to him, "Here is a buck for your honesty"
LOL
i'm interested in how many here give to the homeless, or any kind of charity, since that was not a part of the witness experience.
i have to admit that my heart is hard ...

I can't help it... seeing a fellow human being sitting, stinking on the street in tattered clothing and having not eaten in a day or two, I have to give them something...
Although, I do tend to give to the ones that are actually DOING something... dont just sit there and beg... open the door for me, play an instrument in the subway, squeege my window... I like to see a little effort. Once instead of giving a bum some money... I went into a dep nearby and bought him a sandwich... at least I know he isn't buying crack with it.
Since not donating to the WTBS anymore I have been giving to my local hospital, they took such good care of my grandfather before he died, I would like to know I am doing my part to thank them and ensure that others have the same positive help in a difficult time.
I have as of late been giving my clothes to the "VON" shops in montreal. (I have wayyy too many anyways)
Makes me feel good that my money is no longer wasted on printing brainwashing publications.... at least it is going somewhere useful now.
sonnyboy hated napoleon dynamite .

my all time worst movie was arnold i saw it in about 1974. had roddy mcdowell.
I just saw the worst movie ever on "space channel" this past weekend:

just the title in bad 80's graphics gives it away!!
whether in the congregation or at bethel?
Visions? ?
I dont think I ever heard of that within the org...
I must say I have dreamt of a certain situation and had it happen exactly as I dreamt it... creepy. But that isn't really a vision...
Why do you ask? Have you heard of ppl having visions? I always thought the official stand was that visions didn't happen anymore...
*curious*
regulars or menthols?
full flavor or lights?
kings or extra longs?
Why smoke tobacco when there are more amusing substances around?
now for all the scientists out there this is not a question of proof or anything along those lines.
for my part i choose to believe in a god because i honestly believe there is one (though i did start doubting for a little while) i've always felt that there was more to our existance on earth - and that doesn't stem from me wanting to live forever or as a spirit, as i don't even know if that will happen.
i also believe in him because many many times when i could not carry on, on my own strength, i managed to pulled through.
If you were the supreme being of the Universe, the creator of all things all knowing and all wise, would you allow this amount of confusion regarding your existance? Wouldn't you want people to know without a doubt that you exist and that you created them with a purpose or that you care?
If there was such a thing as "god" as described in the bible... we would not be having this discussion.
in view of the transit bombings, do you feel that police should be able to search you or your bags at anytime?
But does it really protect the public? or does it just make ya feel better?

NO it is not like a treacher punishing the whole class for the error of one.
Having my basic rights denied due to the actions of another is undue punishment to me.
But if you want to protect yourself...maybe if you wear different clothes and maybe if you walk home earlier , and Maybe if you go home with a friend you might be giving yourself more protection from a bad thing happening.
Yes. A victim of rape may choose to protect themselves by being more cautious... but they may choose not to. It is up to the individual. It is their right to wear different clothes and it is their right to continue wearing mini-skirts if he/she so desires.
Searches are not conducted by choice. Giving the police the power to look through MY BAG is not at all the same. You are not giving me the choice to protect myself by allowing a search of my bag... you are FORCING me to "protect" myself. (although how much good it actually does in completely unknown)
It is like saying all rape victims MUST NEVER wear mini-skirtsor drink to protect them from increasing their chances of being raped.

Do you honestly think they are that stupid?? Do you think if Osama Bin Laden wanted to get on an american flight and crash it into anything he would go through customs with a turban on?
Sheesh.
Succesful terrorists are gonna look like us and act like usAMEN!
what would it be?
for me i would get rid of the disfellowshipping!
HAHAHA!! I am soo with you on that one....
