One of the best oriental type scents is Poison...loved Opium..wore it when it first came out. Right now wear Scicily by Dolce and Gabbana. The one that lasted the longest on me was Angel, heavenly chocolatey scent but had to be applied lightly.
Baby Doll is another favourite..tangy grapefruit with flowers,Michael and Glamorous, sensuous.

Every chance these people get they hammer home the "subjection of women" theme from every possible angle!
Somewhere else in the Bible it says that "the woman was deceived, but the man was not"..thereby stating a very obvious fact (if you are a believer) that it was ADAM who chose to sidestep subjection to God which IMO carries more serious implications. But in true patriarchal hegemony the WTBTS downplays this in favour of prehistoric mysogeny.
This organization teaches a lot of BS and legitimizes it by throwing in just enough scripture to make it seem scripturally authentic knowing most of their captive audiences will never check it out. That's how they get away with planting their disturbingly bogus subliminal messagages. -

after hyping up the audience for hours at a convention, a melody like, "we thank you jehovah" has the ability to make everyone all fuzzy and happy.
some even have tears in their eyes.. before a meeting, a kingdom melody is usually played quietly in the background, but it sets the mood.

The music and lyrics of that songbook were and are : insipid, drab, uninspired, and musically "dumbed" down on purpose to induce a compliant mood. Even when I was a model jw I found them more than slightly irksome because I couldn't understand how musicians who generally are very creative and expressive people, could turn out such dreck.
Now that I realise the whole thing is a carefully constructed, low-rent mind***k. that the music should follow the same path doesn't surprise me. -

For me it was the moment I realized that the elders were more concerned about me telling someone that my jw husband was abusive to me, thus bringing reproach on the religion, than they were about doing something about the abuse.
They then tried to make my reaction to the abuse look as if I was mentally unstable. The day after, they sent another elder to see me who informed me that he too had had emotional problems in the past and was in a mental institution for a while. That was it. The whole scam flashed before my eyes and I saw that it really was nothing more than an evil, mindscrewing cult. Good riddence to bad rubbish. -

It just sickens me to read about these demented people and know that this cult of murder will not go away. The most dangerous thing on the planet is a twisted religionist, and there are many of them walking among us wishing for our death and the destruction of western civilization. This is how they plan to destablize western countries. Pretty soon there will be retaliation and all kinds of decent muslim people will be the target of revenge and the cycle of horror begins.
Some have mentioned the similarities between these robotic minions of radical Islam and the equally robotic minions of the jw organization. You would be surprised to learn just how similar their mindsets, rules and regulations and works-based salvation ethics are. When I lived in an Islamic country I got to see first hand the eerie connections...even down to the shunning and demonizing of others who do not believe the same things.
I had very disturbing feelings of déjvu the whole time I was in the middle east.The fear factor was all encompassing also...fear of education, fear of dissention and diversity of opinion. The trivialization of women and the mysogeny were identical. Five prayer calls a day and woe to anyone who couldn't drop everything and obey them. Five jw meetings a week with the same judgements for not going. The constant harangues from the mosques to avoid the unbelievers, the strictly enforced dress codes, the constant browbeating of not doing enough and not being good enough. The same dogma of being "the only true religion" with the same attedent hypocracy. They even have the same teaching of Paradise being only for them and everyone else is condemned to death.
Why do these two religions mirror each other in so many ways? Beats me, but I do know the similarity was incredible.

Are JWs really persecuted?

i must say that although a search on the web will bring you lots of great anti-jw stuff(thier own fault because they only have 1 official website) the number of people actually trash talking is quite small and its mostly ex-jws and some still in the org.

The org. deliberately developed an air of tension and fearful expectation of the "unknown", the persecution, as a control technique. It's called seige mentality. When your attention is directed to "enemies" outside of your special group you will protectively draw closer to like minded people around you. Then the org. hits you with the news that your REAL enemies are within the congregation and guess what? you become paranoid, you become even more suceptable to fear tactics, and because you don't know WHAT to believe you just begin to surrender your mind to the org.
It's so "big brother", scary and chilling really.( I remember that talk too, Gopher) That choice bit of scuttlebutt was dead right on I came to find out. The only treacherous dealings I ever saw came from within the congregation. Vicious sisters with nothing to do tore the lives of innocent people apart with gossip and slander and false accusations. The "world" couldn't care less about the jw,s until a child needs a transfusion. In totalitarian countries all kinds of religious groups are banned and persecuted as has been mentioned, but the jw's only focus on themselves in that blinkered, psychotic martyr complex so dear to their hearts. -

Hey, Rose! Very good news indeed! What a world of opportunity and experience is about to open up to her. I posted somewhere else recently that my long-time-a-dub brother whom I haven't seen in 4 years approached me at a famoly BBQ and just simply said : "ALL my kids are going to get an education." You may have read that post already. He and I talked about the jw's anti-education campaign a long time ago and he said even then that in Vancouver BC there were alot of "rebels" as he put it who did NOT agree with the society's rant against education. But I also know there are ones who will proverbally spit in your face if you or a family member dares to defy that rubbish.
I took alot of really vicious abuse from" god's pure organization " when I simply upped and went to nursing school.It was my departure gift from the borg. My overwhelming realization that the JW religion was a life-wrecking con dates from that time. Having an education is like having your very own genie in a bottle...it's your passport to travel, adventure, self awareness and self-sufficiency. To take pride in yourself is a necessary foundation stone of mental health. A woman with an education has a built in support system, a fall-back mechanism when life hands her a lemon. And life can be cruel. Look at the wrenching stories of all of us who depended on those good old jw boys to take care of us!

while it sees value in jehovah's witnesses, its primary purpose is to reform the governing body.

This reform movement is rather an exciting new fly in the ointment IMO. I can foresee a confrontation starting between these well intentioned protestors and the Borg that could end in an avalanch of departures. When these reform advocates see that there will be NO change and that they have correctly seen what's behind the mask and risked exposure to the wrath of the henchmen of this filthy cult there could well be hell to pay.
Sure they should just get OUT but some people need to storm the bastions in defence of what they believe. The language used in that website is a call to arms and the GB will be paying attention because the majority of the rebels are JWs in good standing. What are they going to do disfellowship entire congregations? Let's hope!!
