Anti-Witness to former Bible study?

a few years back, as a jw, i studied with a wonderful family from china.
they moved away and i transferred over the study to a jw couple in their new area.

I have the same dilamma. I started a study with a man and his wife. He was a do not call but for some reason he would allow me to call on him so over years of calling on him I finally started a study with him. I was only going through the motions at that time, so I told them I was to busy to study with them any more. So I asked an Elder and his wife to study with them. Since then, the mans wife has died but he is now going to all the meetings and will soon be baptized. He has talked to me many times. I will not tell him why I have quit going. I can not tell him. He now has the hope of seeing his wife in the new order and he hangs on to this hope so strong it makes me feel good for him that he has this hope. I simply can't bring myself to do it and hurt him.

most noteable was that christ was present in 1874. thus he believed he and others were chosen by christ to be of the elect remnant who would serve as part of the 144,000 the witnesses recognize today.. the problem occurs when the wts, or judge rutherford, changed 1874 to 1914. .
now christ did not perform any "inspection" until 1919.. he did not chose any fds until 1919.. well, russell was dead in 1919.. therefore prior to 1919 russell was just as any other christian group was.

Good reasoning but the Witnesses will not listen to logic. And as for the 144,000 it is not a literal number only symbolic number.

Disfellowshipped for being fat and not watching my cholesterol
by free2beme ini find the concept of taking select warnings of the medical and science world, to disfellowship members, and ignoring others ... all the more interesting as i think about it.
after all, heart desease is the biggest killer in the americas.
heart desease and heart related deaths are often linked to and not exclusive to; obesity, high cholesterol, fatty foods, not exercising, high stress, etc.. with this in mind, i dare someone to call an elder and report that they saw one of the local witnesses eating at mcdonalds, even though the doctor warned them it could kill them.

I ask them this all the time. With one voice they all say it is just about here now. Them I ask how long in years. They all say with in only a few years some say within Five years others have said no longer than ten.
