Reniaa, how is your time coming along for this month? I am assuming you are pioneering and are almost at your 35 hours needed.

Is it the JW's or the God of the bible you no longer believe?
by reniaa ini have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.
there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.

Now imagine yourselves in the 4th century you just been told you are all now to agree with the current governing bodies 'New light' some will agree, others won't and find themselves upset and unhappy, Others might be really hurt by the changes, others will just be undecided, what do you do?
Problem from the get go Reniaa. Who has told you that you must agree with this 4th century governing body? That same 4th century governing body who has promoted itself to this position. Sorry, faulty premise on which to base the alternatives you mentioned.

Sacolton,
I found this in the 8/15/05 WT
though, that anointed Christians possess something far more valuable than laws written on stone? Jehovah foretold the making of a new covenant unlike the Law covenant made with the nation of Israel. "I will put my law within them, and in their heart I shall write it." (Jeremiah 31:31-34) Jesus, the Mediator of the new covenant, did not personally impart a written code of law to his followers. He sounded down Jehovah’s law into the minds and hearts of his disciples by the things he said and did.

This law is called "the law of the Christ." It was first given, not to the nation of natural Israel, who were the descendants of Jacob, but to a spiritual nation, "the Israel of God." (Galatians 6:2, 16; Romans 2:28, 29) The Israel of God is made up of spirit-anointed Christians. In time, they were joined by "a great crowd" from all nations who also seek to worship Jehovah. (Revelation 7:9, 10; Zechariah 8:23) As "one flock" under "one shepherd," both groups embrace "the law of the Christ," allowing it to govern all that they do.—John 10:16.
This leaves it sort of murky.
Here is from 96:
Who would be taken into this new covenant? Certainly not the literal "house of Israel," who rejected the Mediator of this covenant. (Hebrews 9:15) No, this new "Israel" would be the "Israel of God," a nation of spiritual Israelites. (Galatians 6:16; Romans 2:28, 29) This small, spirit-anointed group of Christians would later be joined by "a great crowd" from all nations who would also seek to worship Jehovah. (Revelation 7:9, 10; Zechariah 8:23) While not party to the new covenant, these too would be bound by law.
This indicates that as of 96 they still teach this.

Or how about the place where you said works were needed in addition to faith...and you quoted James 2....I put it in its appropriate context and showed plainly that works have nothing to do with salvation...using multiple scriptures in context to drive this home....followed by a vague answer....this after you used James as a definite proof text.

Heck, you could even count Outlaw, issacaustin and me as Return Visits!
LoL Mary are JWs allowed to count time witnessing to 'apostates' as time? LOL Although I don't think calling what Reniaa has done herewitnessing does any justice to the word. The same can be said of the typical JW in Biblical discussion.
