Aaaaah, racing to the grocery store after work in order to buy lunch stuff for three people (me and my two kids) for two to four days (depending on if it was a District or Circuit deal), making sure you didn't forget anything as you packed the car up at 11:00 the night before the big event, getting up at the crack of dawn to drive up to two hours to get to the venue as early as possible in order to find a "good" seat, sitting through hours of talks guaranteed to make you feel like living slime mold, trying to keep your eyes from drifting shut and embarrassing snoring to commence after lunch, staying late to wipe and scrape and sweep the place clean, dragging home to eat a quick dinner, shower, and fall into bed so you could do it all again the next day. I can't tell you how much I don't miss the assemblies.
