  this is my first post and here's my story.. my father became a witness long ago and my mom remained a lutheran.

  our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.

  they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.

  Psycho Behaviour.

  number 3 son, ben, finished his 3 years at cardiff university today.

  to celebrate, he earlier went out with his pals, got well and truly sozzled in several pubs and indulged in the highly dangerous pastime of partaking in a few psycho tequilas!

  Good ideas, I quit!.

  Since blood is becoming a non-issue, the FDS can rally 'round the sausage. JW's will need another defining tenet to show how different they are from the world: "Sausage...Is It For Christians?"

  katiekitten, I'm sure they will want to use the story of what sausage-eating did to Auntie Jean for the Watchtower article.

  I think he's....less than intriguing. He looked like a moron on Oprah. Not that I watched Oprah, but I did see clips of his fist-pumping antics and a rather funny bit about it on late night tv.

  Lost our Kitty...

  you remember about a month ago i had asked you all for ideas on how to deliver johnny cats medication for hyper-thyroid issues (which worked beautifully, thank you!)..

  well, it finally happened... we took johnny cat in to the vet because he was having seizures.

  it scared the crap out of us when it happened.. when we got there, the vet told us he had lymphoma and it would only get worse rapidly.

  I hated having mine put down so much, even though it was necessary, that I can't bring myself to get another.

  Amazing, isn't it, katie?

  I can't say I was treated horribly or anything, I didn't bring any questions to the elders, I just slowly got fed up and stopped going. However, a friend of mine tried many times to get questions on "new light" answered and was rebuffed or condescended to. I don't know if it was this questioning that caused it, but "the friends" started giving her grief, telling her she should be pioneering (cuz she was a single sis and had all that free time on her hands, nevermind she has to work full time to support herself) or, at least, "doing more". She started having trouble getting publications and tapes that she'd ordered...somehow her order would either magically disappear or get skipped over, as well as other petty cruelties. It all built up until she couldn't take it any more. Of course, when she stopped going to meetings, suddenly they were leaving messages on her phone, emailing and knocking on her door wanting to "talk". Too little, way too late, guys.

  It never made sense to me to love bomb new ones trying to suck them into the org, only to neglect or mistreat those who they already owned.

  Seems like an exercise in trying to appear that they haven't dropped one of the pillars of JW doctrine to the R&F while, in actual fact, they have. How anybody can look at this bullsnot as "new light" is beyond me. It's a disguised about-face on a policy that has killed adults and children alike; martyrs for....nothing.
