Nice turban. He promises to remove ALL stress from the life of the "sweet chocolate sis" who he connects with.
Hrmmm......Not that I'm eligible or anything (being white), but I started to feel stress as soon as I read that. LMAO!
i heard this guy interviewed on radio a couple nights ago.
apparently he was witnessed summoning ufos.
anyone else hear of this guy?

when i was growing up in dubland, i always felt like i never "fit" in with the other kids in the cong or their families.
i always knew deep down that i didn't like being a jw and their had to be more to life than meetings and field service.
i just wanted to be normal, like the other kids and have sleepovers, birthday parties, after school activities and christmas etc..... my folks were and still are devout dubs and my dad in particular is the nicest man you will ever meet, he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, no questions asked.
In my first congregation there were a lot of single sisters both with and without kids, so I had a great group to connect with right away. That part was super.
I did have this nagging worry that Jehovah didn't really find me acceptable, though. It felt like swimming upstream in rapids trying to get baptised and I kept wondering why Jehovah didn't want me. I think now it was the all the PO's fault... he was massive punitive control freak. I think he felt that if he hadn't studied with someone, that they weren't truly prepared to be one of Jah's jolly people. The guy was anal about meeting attendance too, and if I made it through two months runniing without missing a meeting, it was cause for celebration.
Second congo, my kids and I never fit. They got in trouble with an elder's son almost immediately (and here I thought I was being so careful about association) and that set the tone from there on out. I wish I could get over the guilt for putting them through all that shit.
.
honestly, do you think that jw's really like going to 3 or 4 day assemblies, especially when it's out of town, far away, and you have to take a motel room, and all the gas money and food money it takes, as well as having to sit down all day listening to endless talks...and that for 3 or 4 days in a row.. and often, they have to take a day off from work, to attend the friday meeting, so no pay for that day.. i think that the jw's are glad when it's finally over, not before.. .
I'd imagine some would say they liked assemblies, but if they were being honest, what they probably like is the social aspects surrounding them, not the actual event itself.
Hard to like sitting on hard, cramped seats listening to stuff you've heard endless times before (unless you're a new dub), trying to keep your kids from fighting or crying or throwin' spit balls, pinching yourself to stay awake, and counting the minutes til lunch break. Okay, I did sort of like the dramas...kind of like I enjoyed science films in grade school. They were a welcome break in the monotony.
i finished my spring semester of schooling!
yay!
i got a call from my sister saying that she was arrested and in jail for 3 days for domestic violence.
did they have a talk recently on how to get disfellowshipped people back in the congregation. Because it just seems a little weird to me that both me and my friend are having this experience. When devils turn into angels, watch out!
At least you are aware of the possibility....which stinks, but you won't be totally shocked if that's what this more loving and less judgmental attitude is about.
I hope, hope, hope that's not the case and that your mom (and your friend's dad) are realizing how cruel the borg's directives are and how much they've missed you over the years.
i had to come home early from work today because a 17 year old girl came over to me and was all upset she asked if she could come up and visit with my wife and i. she said the brothers are always picking on her and she can not do anything right.
i asked, what have you done she said nothing every time it is some one making things up and she is tired of even trying any longer.
teenagers come from over all the area they they know they can come and talk to us and we will not judge them.
My boys and I had to deal with this blackballing by an elder and his sons too after we moved to CT. He was coldly polite to me, but I he wouldn't condescend to speak to my sons, and his sons were downright cruel, rude and dishonest. Other elders did their best to be supportive and I was grateful to them for it, but it wasn't enough to counteract the damage done by this guy.
So much for showing concern for the fatherless boy and all that rot. Some people are just power-tripping jerks and being an elder gives them a way to act out.
=====================
Jehovah knows what you're doing too, dfed. Hanging around, reading this seditious material and getting into discussions with apostates is forbidden by the Watchtower, is it not? What would He think of your disobedience in disregarding the directives of His faithful and discreet slave? Aren't you worried that your actions are displeasing to your God?
the stuff on the news is fascinating me, so i just had to start a thread about it.. yesterday i saw online at the guardian that tom cruise had hired some sort of cult bodyguard (tongue in cheek) to accompany his new girlfriend (katie holmes, an actress) around to continue her inculcation into scientology.
they are allegedly saying they're best friends now, though they met very recently.. i'm now reading the 6/17 issue of entertainment weekly magazine.
it says:he had a scientology massage tent on the set of his newest movie (his retort is he had a capuccino tent too)he compares psychiatry to nazis and claims jung (famous psychiatrist) was editor for nazi papers (a claim a jungian group denies)he says methadone was named after hitler (also refuted by the magazine)he slams brooke shields for using anti-depressants
Pretty scary stuff. If somebody high-profile like Cruise or Travolta did come to believe it was junk and break away, they'd probably be afraid to say so.
at the time of this story, the bible tells us that adam and eve had two children, cain and abel.
now, dont forget that there are only four people on the planet.
so, apparently, cains only punishment was the requirement to move to another region.
Good stuff, RunningMan! Nice way to spend my break. LOL
.
i understand from a jw who visited me a few weeks ago that jws have a `busy schedule'.
presumely studying the literature etc.. anyone wish to elaborate
Sheesh, Crumpet! I would have had a breakdown long before I did if I'd been as good a dub as you! I'm exhausted just reading that. My excuse is that I was a single mom so had to do all the family/around the house stuff myself.
to understand so that's why the wts published the new book being released at this year's district conventions.. the new book gets "straight to the point".
according to her "and many others", the knowledge book was too difficult for those just beginning a bible study.
i said, "you're kidding!
Hehehe...yah, I'm real mature, huh?
blondie suggested highlighters instead crayons, which is even better. LOL

"Look, brother and sisters! Even the world recognizes that the END IS NEAR!" LOL At least the attendees wouldn't be bored for two minutes.
