36Ran out of Walkill, So we picketed Patterson
by Junction-Guy inwell when thursday morning arrived and we were told the news that the brooklyn picketing had been cancelled, we were upset and disappointed, but we decided to go on with a plan "b".
amanda,evelyn,sybil,and i decided to ride up to walkill ny and visit the watchtower farms and also patterson.
we drove up to walkill first and i must say that the size of this complex was enormous, and reminded me so much of a prison complex, they even had their own water tower.

My friends husband works the late shift and sleeps during the day, he get irate when jw's knock on his door. I have given them the 'cease & desist' letter, but as that is only good for one year and they are back. So I sent them a bunch of (smart ass) suggestions and a sticker of 'no jw's please' for their door. So I really hope the sticker helps.

Is it normal for a high school senior girl not to want a boyfriend?
by lv4fer inmy daughter is 17 and she has had a few boyfriends in the past short term.
my family keeps asking her why she doesn't have a boyfriend.
i don't have a problem with that.

My daughter was very, very bright and found many of the high school boys so immature. She went on a few dates and dances and such. She also could not stand the 'drama' of many of her girlfriends. She was always there for them but found many of them 'dumb' because they could not see how the boy was treating them or a few times she even thought a few of the boys were too good for a certain friend as she was a heart breaker and the grass was always greener elsewhere. She also was very driven and looked to her future after highschool. If she's ok with it I would encourage her to be her own person and not go out with somebody just to fit in. They tend to hang out in groups these days anyway so being the 3rd or 5th wheel isn't the same as when people 'double dated'.

i managed to get out of going to the assembly, using an excuse about my stomach, and the complications which follow.

This may sound like a stupid question but, - doesn't Jesus say He will come when least expected? and if so, if everybody keeps expecting it 'any day now', wouldn't it make sense to just get on with your life and live it rather than living only to wait for the end? does that make sense? why would He come if everyone is expecting it any day when he said it would be an unexpected thing?

treatment of jw's w/ubm's
by carla inhow are jw's treated by the cong when they have a ubm?
on one hand they could hold them up as how wonderful they are for suffering such persecution but on the other hand wouldn't they be looked down upon because they couldn't even get their own spouse 'in'?
if you can't even get your own spouse to believe how well could you do in service?

Anything funny happen at a jw wedding?
by tall penguin ini have a few funny jw wedding stories.
the first is what happened at my ex-husband's wedding.
he remarried only 6 months after our divorce and so i guess the brother who gave the marriage talk hadn't quite recovered because when he announced the new couple to the congregation, he announced my name rather than the new bride's.

I don't know if you will find it funny but someone at a recent wedding here placed anti witness literature around all the tables. Sure wish I knew who they were, they would know they have a potential helper/friend in town!

That was also before a Thurs meeting. Mine happened to miss both of those Thurs meetings. Will he be filled in at Sunday meeting on what he missed or expected to just read the wt in question? did I luck out by him missing the meetings? If one has to miss a meeting, for the ubm which would be better Tues or Thurs?
