If your God didn't know in advance that Adam & Eve supposedly 'sinned' then you have a very small god.

JW Chrisians in name only-what do you think
by enoughisenough injw claim they are the true religion and they mention the love they have among themselves as proof.
i have been watching a youtube creator who had some thoughts on the subject, bringing out jw were not really christian, based upon their actions.
he made a pretty good case.

As a non/never been jw - my opinion and that of every 'Christian' I know- jw's are not Christian because they don't accept Christ as their savior. period. They pretty much have no use for Christ and make fun of people who look to Jesus as their personal (and that of the world) savior and mediator. In dubland the gb is above Christ or at least equal. Not only that but according to my jw Jesus could have been anybody, He could have been Bob,Tom, Dick or Harry down the street. Jesus was nobody special. Not so in Christian circles. Though to be fair, this whole thought could have changed over the years and I or he completely missed it? So it goes in dubland keep up or fall behind with new light and all. Isn't there a scripture about teaching false teachings? the jw's don't seem to mind this when they get 'new light'. If a convention hasn't taken place in Hobokon New Jersey yet then the old still stand there. Never mind about the new light that came in a convention in Buffalo, NY.
In my weird life with a jw (who joined later in life) and me (Christian viewpoint non church-ed at the moment grew up traditional protestant) he had tried to pull the 'head of the house' crap on me because he believed it was 'Christian' and I would go along, hilarious ensues. Nope. You are not Christian and you can't try and use that on me because you are not a Christian. Take your ungodly crap and ..... well you get the idea. Yes, not very "Christian" of me I know, but, if I could forgive someone for the same 'sin' then I'm sure the Lord can too because there is no way that I could have more compassion than God.
For those who say that believing Jesus lived and was a holy man of some sort are 'Christian' do not understand Christianity at all. Muslims, East Indians (Hindu, etc...) also believe Jesus lived, that does make them 'Christian' because they do not believe that Christ died for their personal sins and that of the world.
Over the years my opinion has changed re: jw's due to the fact that first one must define 'sin' and also one must define what a 'God' or if you prefer 'god' is. That is where jw's and Christians differ entirely. Don't even go to the Trinity at the moment, first define sin and what a god is and is capable of. I can't count the many conversations between my and my jw regarding the above. On one hand he would shake his head in total agreement only to then say NO, blah, blah, blah......... it was infuriating! to have him shake his head in agreement to one second later say the entire premise was wrong except for some goofy word or two that he could agree with. aggh, it tires me out just remembering it. My kids tried too, all to no avail obviously or I probably wouldn't need to be here anymore. sigh.

Are JWs forgetting Jesus altogether?
by KerryKing ina relative sent me yesterday's wt study article 46, how jehovah guarantees his promise of paradise.. it's been a long time since i read one of those articles but what really struck me about this one is that, considering it's discussing a fundamental jw belief, it only mentions jesus twice as an aside, and not at all as the central figure like the bible does.
it actually mentions satan far more in the same article!.
i don't remember this discrepancy from my time in the org 15 years ago.

I mentioned this to my jw years ago! in fact I could go on for hours about how the jw's have made Jesus basically a side note. I was too late, he was too far gone by then, sigh.

Even with recent changes it’s a struggle to get people to attend
by hoser inthe kingdom hall is still empty.
even with amalgamation of 2 congregations.
the elders are handling the microphones and there was only one comment from zoom at the watchtower.

I don't understand, you guys (ex jw's) here and elsewhere keep talking about how empty the kh's are so I decided to drive by the one my jw goes to a number of months ago and the place was packed! aagh! what gives?
Maybe each vehicle only had one person in it? I dunno, it was pretty depressing to see after all the good reports of empty kh's.
Hope springs eternal I guess.

My decision.
by MissDaSilva ini’ve decided to disassociate from the jw organisation.
i cannot be part of a community that blatantly rejects the sacrifice of jesus in that demonic memorial ritual.
amazing what information you find when you start researching.. i’m writing my letter and posting it to the kingdom hall this morning.

Tednzo, so basically you all just use each other for your own purposes? with friends like that who needs enemies?
Those are not real friends and you are not a real friend to those people because you are just using them so you are not alone and have to find real friends that love you warts and all.
The org only has the power because people like you gave them that power. Years ago when shunning was first implemented people as a whole could have had nothing to do with it. Not give money or go to a kh and see how quick that policy would have changed. But because all jw's care more about the org/society and their own standing than they do God they allow any nonsense handed down by some evil men in NY.
The people on this board (and elsewhere) who have been subjected to shunning and all the other jw nonsense and left because they had the integrity to believe that truth is more important than following men because it is the easier thing to do are the real heroes today.
In most cases they lost everything simply for believing differently.
What would it take for you to say enough? What could the gb ask of you that you wouldn't do? What if shunning wasn't held over your head? Would you have the balls to say no then?
Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities (Attributed to Voltaire)

Lines you would never hear from a Jehovah's Witness
by Ron.W. ina slightly tongue in cheek, but also serious roundup of jw speak and why trying to reason with them is like trying to chip through concrete with a plastic spoon.. how many can you think of??.
elder: 'yes.
i read through the material you asked me to at your judicial meeting - you're right we're both in a cult!

Seeing as jah has decided it is ok to have beards now and women in Bethel Spain had pants on can women in US wear pants now?
In a few years this will all be forgotten and jw's will say it is all apostate lies that jw men couldn't have both a beard and 'privileges' at the same time. Or they will laugh it off and say, "yeah, there were some crazy beliefs at one time, we are progressive so we get new light!"

Were we really meant to live forever?
by Leathercrop inour capacity for adaptation (there's an official term somewhere) is apparently very vast.
meaning that whatever is a novelty always becomes old news and apparently it happens very quickly.
human beings in fact have to put a lot of effort into not discarding valuable things and relationships because of our overwhelming tendency to become incredibly used to it and just plain bored with them.

Well Sea Breeze I am more on your side of the fence than you know. Many of the likes on your posts were from me in fact. I am not necessarily a traditionalist Christian (if that is even a thing). I know my Redeemer Lives as will I. My God is Love and yes, I am a Trinitarian though some see things differently and the word itself has different meaning to different folks. I do not care for fire & brimstone type preaching and find it spiritually harmful. I still find the jw's and other cults (which can include churches) to be damaging to the soul. They will have much to answer for in my opinion.
I no longer feel it is my job or responsibility to get my jw out of his ungodly cult. It is the job of Christ & the Holy Spirit. I have planted the seed it is now up to God to water it or not I guess. I don't have all the answers and I like it that way. If one truly had the faith of a child they would not need the absolute answer to everything but simply put it at the Lord's feet and know all will be well. I simply don't see God, Jesus & Holy Spirit the way traditionalist necessarily do. God is not some white dude sitting on a throne waiting and watching to see us mess up and throw arrows at us. If God is our Father then how could He? How could I have more compassion than God? I couldn't therefore when I go home in the end I know all will be forgiven, it already has. Christ did that work upon the Cross for me.
That is my answer that I think you can understand from your Christian point of view. My answer to someone who sees spirituality in a non traditional biblical sort of way would be quite different and to be honest I do not think there are too many folks on this board who could wrap their heads around that answer so I am not even going to go there.
You might not see that there could be 2 answers that sound like they would be opposed to each other though they are not opposed at all. I think almost everybody (churches, cults, etc...) put God in a little box when God (who has no gender but simply is God) is so very much bigger than what they think.
As for living forever on Earth? I don't recall a scripture that specifically says that. Why would one want to? Do you not understand how very vast the universe is? Don't you want to see some of that? Maybe we will travel in our soul body? who knows? guess we will all find out at some point or not.
If being dead is dead, not being conscious then none of this matters anyway does it? Now, if we get to go on and continue to learn and live things we cannot even imagine then.... "wow, wow, oh wow" as Steve Jobs said as he was dying.
