my ex girlfriend stole the other one, and i was looking to replace it.

it made me think about the time i was a kid.

Not being jw, I find all this fascinating. Sorry, but I do. What is wrong with a cabbage patch doll? Because they came from a garden? And are you kidding about the Barbie going into field service? Do you suppose jw kids imaginations are better or worse because of all the restrictions? Sometimes I wonder if some of the jw kids might have had quite a wild imaginary life, not being able to act things out in play time. Carla

Love for who? you or Christ? Are we not to love Christ more? So, by you, claiming what is rightfuly Jesus, being The Word, not you thinking YOU are the Word, it is a blasphemous statement on your part. Love has nothing to do with it, either you are claiming to be Jesus or you are not. The Word is Jesus. The Truth is Jesus not an org. and most certainly you are not the Lord.

You have not answered 1914. Could you also answer, using scripture only, where in the Bible does it say the 'doors' to heaven were closed in 1935?

When God decided to "move" off the planet Alcyone, do suppose it was big move for him? Did all the angels say, aw,this Saturday? or what? Are you even aware that the org taught that at one time?

And when did God decide that aluminum wasn't in fact from satan? Why did He change His mind? Did you know the society taught that at one time?

Thank heaven for the org! We can all rest safe, the org also had the 'cure' for cancer!

And don't let those pesky appendicitis pains bother you, they are only worms!

These are only a very, very few of the insane things the org taught. Yesterday's new light becomes today's embarrassment. The same will hold true in 5,10 20, even 50 years from now.

Jesus sat with sinners, ate with them and even stayed in their homes! Does the society allow you to even talk to someone they have deemed a sinner? It seems the wt and people in the halls are so busy looking out for the sins of others they can't see, they themselves are sinners as well. As we all are. Guilty of one, guilty of all.

They cannot claim to have to have some exclusive truth from God, and then claim they are just men making mistakes. Either you do in fact have an exclusive with God or you don't. You are a prophet or not, there is no 'kind of'. That is like being kind of pregnant.

Leaving the org is not equal to leaving God. No where in scripture is the wt named, except for being an antichrist. Carla

here goes.. there are a lot of people who feel very strongly that you should keep a marriage together at all costs for the sake of the kids, since they feel that children need both a mother and a father.

You claim you can prove 1914 by the Bible! amazing, you would be one of the first jw's to do so. Even the elder I met with couldn't do that. Your next statement, learn to love one another, that is truly a lovely sentiment. Would you please advise the WT of this? Seeing as that I do not see much 'love' on the part of active jw's. I see broken homes, broken relationships, abused children, protected pedophiles, broken marriages etc..etc... I have never had a discussion with a jw that was able to stay on topic or actually prove anything using scripture only. In fact, I find the ones I have talked to quite lazy and certainly no lovers of truth. Lovers of a man made org? Yes! They are lazy because they are unwilling to do even the slightest bit of research on any given topic. It does not go against God to question the publications of the org. Unless of course you equate the org=God. Which most jw's do. I have even found some so called historical research done by the org that was so out of date it hadn't been taught by anyone, since the early 20's! Not to even mention their bizzare views on science. Then there is their 'unscholarly' Bibical work to contend with. You are not interested in any 'truth', just protecting the org. at all costs, even at the cost of truth. When people on boards like this have found out they were lied to they decided to see what else they were lied to about. Compare it to a spouse that just found out the other had an affair, what usually will happen is the wronged spouse will begin to check phone records, credit card records, coat pockets etc....To find out if the affair is still going on, after the spouse claimed he/she would end it. Isn't that a normal response? Once you get burned you become very careful. The people on boards like this have tremendous courage, they cared that much about truth, they were willing to risk being shunned and abused by family members because they did care about real truth. And even after the mistreatment of family members (often just because they had different viewpoint) they still want a relationship with the abusive family members. Why? Because they know what love really means, not some conditional love that the wt espouses. Many of these people have not left God, they left a man made cult that is destructive and certainly does not teach anything of God. By the way, your name alone is Blaphemous, calling yourself The Word, you should be ashamed of yourself, carla

Speaking of 1914, if Jesus supposedly picked Russell out all the world, then shouldn't the wt be teaching what Russell taught in 1914? thanks, carla

why does the dubs bible change the words from other recognised translations ?

in the normal bibles john 1:1 says "in the beginning was the word, and the word was with god, and the word was god.

" .... but the dubs version says"... and the word was a god".

If Jesus is 'a' God, then the jw's have two god's. Not one, as they claim. And yes, it is to disavow the trinity. Do you see the difference? The word was God, or The word was A God. If there is only one God, how could the word be 'a' God? There are reams of info written on this subject try any of the exjw sites. Also try apologetics sites. The jw's are not monotheistic. They have had a number of reasons over the years about this (one comes to mind about a made up grammar rule). You will need to research greek, grammar, monotheism, henotheism, and polytheism to get a good grasp. Or go to a couple of the sites mentioned above. i don't think he has a clue as to what it really means, what will be expected of him.

He has been going to hell for about two years and does not see any of the hypocrisy or any of the damage done to families in the name of the org. Any suggestions? thanks, carla

i wasn't aware of the in's-and-out's of the subject, just that i felt that my own baptism as a jw was somehow invalid, and wanted to do it properly.

Do jw's understand how drastically the change is when they get baptized? Husband says he is getting bapatized this summer. I am just sick about it. I don't think he realizes just what this means for him. From my research it appears that, now the hammer really comes down. Work, Work, Work! never enough. I don't think he has any concept of grace. It seems there are almost two sets of rules in the hall, one for baptized and one for those who are not. carla
