It's why I like this board. It's so hard to explain to somebody (like my girlfriend) who hasn't been there.
Not that she wouldn't have empathy, but there's been nothing like this in her experience.

My g/f and I took a day trip back to the 'Land Where I Once Was a Dub'
I showed her where I lived and worked. My old red farmhouse has fallen into abandonment. Boarded up, broken, and overgrown. Sad, really.
I could see into the old barn through some slats. Hanging on a hook was my old broken road bike where I left it eighteen years ago. it was unridable when I moved out and now it is purely trash but I felt the strongest urge to kick in a part of the wall of the barn, grab it and run.
It was my bike, my baby, my oasis. I would ride in my late teens and early twenties because even though I had the Truth™, I had nothing, really. It was miles into the countryside where I felt at peace. racing down a winding country road in full tuck, sometimes exceding the posting speed limit, gave me clarity and focus and an exhileration like nothing else.
In my head, it was intimate proof I was there, I lived, I worked, I went to meetings and I someday I would walk away from it all to re-invent myself.
Now my head is racing, I'm a little freaked out,and I cannot sleep. -

Kissing
by MindGhost indoes jehovah witnesses believe that kissing between man and women before marriage is allowed by the bible?.
the type[s] i have in mind is the kissing between a boyfriend-girlfriend couple [intimate kiss on the lips] or kissing like 'making out' on one night or so.

Assembly Time is Near! Were you always a good Dub when you went?

last summer, i started laughing when a sister on the stage told us how "proud" she was that she only had two complete place settings in her house.
if more than one person came to visit she related that she had to wash a cup so that the other one could drink.

My backside and my back was always in pain from the benches at the Tacoma Dome. I voluntered as an attendant just so i could walk around with being questioned or reprimanded. I learned how to walk like I had somewhere to be, all the while I was scoping the sisters. After a while I didn't even need to sign up for attendant duty, people assumed by my demeanor I had a reason to be where I was.

I like a lot of the lesser known titles (Bone, Fell, Strangers in Paradise, Madman, The Walking Dead, Concrete, THB) but some writers have rekindled my interest in the X-Men, Superman, Batman,and The Legion of Superheroes to name a few.
