Would I be correct in saying that if one was baptised PRE 1995 (or any other flip-flop issue) and held to those beliefs, one would NOW be apostate? As indeed Russell and Rutherford would be?
ALSO would I be correct in thinking that the baptismal affirmation has been changed from allegiance to God (who NEVER changes) to allegiance to the FDS (for OBVIOUS reasons).

once you start questioning the beliefs of the organization, all kinds of things cross your mind.
for instance, the bible clearly describes angels as having wings - and the wbts illustrates them with wings in their publications - so what's up with the whole "not displaying images of angels" in witness homes, etc.
through the years i bought the position that angels are not children, so the images of babies with wings and halos are inconsistent with bible truth - but what's wrong with images of adult angels with wings and why are witnesses encouraged not to display them?.
Patrick - is that a ''scene of crime'' police photo? I think it's appalling how people can not only pull the wings off angels, but strip them too (just because they're different to us) it's angel-harrassment. I bet whoever did this used to pull the wings off daddy-long-legs as a child. I hope they catch the perpetrator(s).

I think there's a point there stopthepain. You are of course RIGHT. Although they are VERY MUCH a part of the World, they have to be SEEN not to be. It's all about image.
Birthdays / holidays / voting are all PUBLIC and SEEN. Whereas buying shares in tobacco, claiming benefits and joining the UN as an NGO are all UNSEEN - hidden.

If they WEREN'T any part of this World, they would be a self-sufficient Organisation. The members would not be claiming State Benefits (and a vast amount do) - after all - where does that benefit come from? Tax payers...tax from tobacco....if they are no part of this World, then the Org should keep them financially. Won't be for long.

First I've heard of this - lol. I have a very large picture of an angel hanging on my landing.
Of COURSE angels have wings - think about it. When angels were invented / evolved, it was before the days of aviation and jetpacks - how else would they get about and flit between Heaven and Earth?
