Great Stuff Highlander. Am I seeing correctly? Is that chap in front of you wearing a YELLOW shirt? the rebel!
Not sure I've ever seen anyone picketing an Assembly - maybe I never noticed, or maybe it's more of an American hobby.
this weekend was my wife's convention.
i attended with her on friday morning.
she attended alone during the afternoon as i had some clients to meet with for my business.

we all know that once this happens it will ring a loud cry from the wts to how it is "growing".
when do you think this will happen?
Depends how fast they can breed them
from someone who attended:.
there was a big elders meeting in columbia sc on saturday june 9.. around 240 congregations, 2000+ elders.. the society wants to build a brand new assembly hall in columbia, sc, to handle the huge influx of jws moving to the us southeast from up north.. they expect to have it done in 34 months (finished by april 2010).
total cost estimated to be approximately $8 - 9 million.. they want to have the whole thing paid for by the time the building is done - no long term loans.. they "strongly suggested" that each of the 240 congregations commit to supporting "their share" of the expense.
That's disgraceful - bloody con artists, pleading poverty while sitting on a fortune. The JWs I've spoke to here (England) seem to think that the only property the Society owns is for the the printing 'business'.
Mary - the preaching work is finished? Well, someone ought tell the Dubs here then, as they're still peddling trashy mags door-to-door
<!-- .style1 { font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #009933; } .style2 { font-family: arial; font-size: 16px; color: #009933; } .style3 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .style4 {font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-style: italic; } --> how did being referred to as a brother or sister make you feel?the term brother always reminded me of being in some militant or holy roller religion.
during my tenure as a jehovahs witness, i brought it to the elders attention to refer to .
me by using my first or last name when addressing me.
Actually - it just sounded very silly to me. What's the point? I suppose to make us feel we had some sort of 'family obligation'. I always called people by their Christian names. I'm more likely to call peeps 'Brother' and 'Sister' on HERE than I did back then.
i have been out for 2 years now.
i have spoken once to my father who is a jw in that time.
he said i would get a letter from him telling me where to 'straighten up', but it has never come.
If you call, and he hears your voice (or doesn't answer - caller ID), is there a chance he'll just hang up? Could you just send a card? Not a 'Father's Day', but a blank, 'Thinking of You', or 'To Someone Special'?
I wish you luck in whatever you decide to do esw.
i was contacted a while ago by a lawyer who wanted to discuss something i posted on jwd on the blood issue.. .
however, i was surprised to find how afraid this particular person was of the wt society who had already attempted to get this person into trouble with their employer in an almost slanderous way.
this non jw was more desperate to be incognito than me and obviously afraid for their job and reputation in wanting to disclose, make public the reality of the watchtower blood ban!.
The Watchtower Organisation IS the opposite to what it has its members believe - it is in fact a WORDLY Organisation, and operates as such.
im new here.
i was raised as a jw by my mom.
my dad never accepted the religion.
Hello Guy intriguing name.
what do you think the first secret watchtower is going to be about?.
you know the jan 15th, 2008 apostate proof edition..
...the difference between the public version and the publisher version would be the questions and some WT specific language that most 'worldly' people wouldn't understand without a lengthy explanation.
Welcome Fat Greg - Hmmm - your statement makes me think that as the WTBTS are imparting 'knowledge' that is MEANT for dub eyes only, JWs will (psychologically) get the 'message' that there is something afoot without anything being mentioned (a bit like 1975) - and it will have a 'positive' effect on the R&F.
Oh yes, and I think it'll be about money - surely somewhere in the Bible they can twist a Scripture about 'tithing' (which WON'T be the WORLDLY 10%, but 25% - New Light)
i found this newspaper article online today........jr brown makes a comment why there are no windows in kh's.

As other posters have said - in England it's common to see Kingdom Halls WITH windows. HOWEVER, locally there is one without windows, and the reason given is because of vandalism. This I don't believe as it's situated in a very 'old' area with no significant crime. It's also opposite a police station AND a church (with nice stained glass windows). personally, I think in this instance, it's psychological - keeping apart from the World.
the question box in july deals with the internet - mainly concerned with children on myspace & similar sites -mentioning that your child could be talking to paedophiles , dfd ones or even "active apostates" .
the main article deals with the - "exciting" and "thrilling" news of the new wt arrangement (maybe some people should get out more).
nothing new in the article , which has as the sole justification the need no longer to explain "theocratic" terms like "pioneer" , but it does seem that the awake will be tailored more to non-christian people.
Apostasy is a standing away from, a falling away, defec-
tion, rebellion, abandonment; it involves teaching false
doctrines, supporting or promoting false religion and its
holidays or interfaith activities. (Deut. 13:13, 15; Josh.
22:22, ftn.; Acts 21:21, ftn.; 2 Cor. 6:14, 15, 17, 18;
2. John 7, 9, 10; Rev. 18:4)
Lol - they don't see the irony...
Apostasy includes action taken against true worship of
Jehovah or his established order among his dedicated
people. (Jer. 17:13; 23:15; 28:15, 16; 2 Thess. 2:9, 10)
<sigh>
Persons who deliberately spread (stubbornly hold to and
speak about) teachings contrary to Bible truthas taught
by Jehovah's Witnesses are apostates.
Now THERE'S an oxymoron, lol.
