Is The Bible REALLY The Word Of The FDS?

i know this will have already been covered on the forums but ... upon visiting a jw relative in hospital, they requested i brought their bible in (the gideons bible supplied by the nhs clearly being inadequate and not supporting wt fantasy).

i dutifully went to their house and grabbed what i thought was a bible (an easy mistake to make assuming the nwt is actually a bible).

it seems i couldn't have got it more wrong, resulting in one horrified jw and one very confused (albeit gorgeous) midwich.

...saw this article in newspaper last week - and, in addition to it being a horrid tragedy, i couldn't help but wonder...i know in england (at least when i was registering my kids) some names were 'forbidden', but, as it didn't apply to me, i don't know which...but i've never heard of a lad called this before.

anyone else?.

Children - Just a thought

was it 1938 when faithful jws were first instructed recommended not to have children?

...mark the words of jesus, which definitely seem to discourage the bearing of children immediately before or during armageddon....it would therefore appear that there is no reasonable or scriptural injunction to bring children into the world immediately before armageddon, where we now are.

" (watchtower, nov. 1, 1938, p. 324) the wt was relatively in its early days (compared to mainstream religion), and had already gone through a lot of change.

monopoly?.

ok, it's the school holidays and i'm playing monopoly with master midwich (what an exciting life i lead)...and he picks up the 'community chest' card - ''it's your birthday, collect 10 from each player''..... so, (and i know i need to get out more) - would dubs:-.

a) not play monopoly.
