  I know my mom has suffered from clinical depression since I can remember. Didn't know it till I got out and went thru nursing school. They tell me I'm bipolar, but who isn't in some way or other. Looking back, those that did show signs of mental illness were either the elders and MS's, or the ones they played on their emotions. After a suicide attempt, years ago, the dr's didn't know what to do with me. The first thing they did was to deny any visitors that were JWs--including my parents.

  When I did my psych rotation, there was a JW patient there. All she was worried about was the elders finding out she was there. It was sad.

  I think most of the elders suffer from "grandiose delusions" and "paranioa"! I can see them doing the "thorazine shuffle".

  You must be on your way to Booneville,right??? Just got off the phone with my ex. He's taking my daughter there tonight, too. If I"d have known, I'd sent you his pic--I'd pay big bucks to have him thrown in the river!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  It's time to break out thr tequilia and liven this place up. I've been trying to pick a fight for 2 days around here. NO one will take the bait. Any takers??????

  i have read in several of your posts that you are a doctor, what is your line of practice?

  if you would share that with us here that would be cool.

  also how often has the blood transfusion issue come up in your practice.

  Scully-

  I had to sit thru the same video. I ended up doing a "play by play". By the time we were done, none of the nurses/interns wanted to deal with patients that were JWs. I can't tell you how many times I ended up having to get involved. Especially in the ER/ICU, were I worked anyway. A couple of the docs would get so fed up, they'd walk away, leaving me to deal with it. I got pretty good at nicely putting them in their place. I've had elders escorted from the hospital. I've had security posted on the floor. I love to restrict vistors (meaning no elders). I wasn't the only one picking up literature left and trashing it. The whole staff would bring magazines to the break room for me to destroy. It got to be pretty funny.

  Another hospital I worked at had a JW public relations/liason person. She's acused me of "undoing her hard work." The staff would call me before they called her. Didn't like her "holier than thou" attitude". Knew I must be doing something right!!

  No matter what they say, medical staff is not that crazy about having to deal with any JW. They can usually see thru them.

  Does being a JW make a person physically sick?

  definitely mentally and more than likely physically.. i have read on a few posts and freeminds about an increase of mental illness amoungst jws of between 2 and 40 % and it seems understandable considering the amount of stress being in the borg puts on people.. but what about physically?.

  what are your experiences since leaving the borg?.

  do you feel well and fitter than ever before?.

  When I was younger, every time we got ready to go to the circuit assembly in St. Loius I used to get tonsilitis. It'd be bad enough I needed antibiotics. Usually I got to stay either at home or in the motel room. Figure that??

  Hell, I hadn't even opened it till now. Yep, it says 2005. Can't believe I got a new book early. Wonder if there's any new light? Not that I could even get thru the first paragraph without gagging. Wonder what would happen if it went on ebay! I don't know shit about ebay.

  I actually thought of sending one of my pagan books to him. But I'm not going to waste a good book like that! Have there been any assemblies in California. That's where he is. Now I feel special. That calls for something drastic to happen.....
