since i am unable to search this forum, i thought i'd ask for help.
i have heard that the org now says that all the parts of blood are okay for transfusion individually, just not whole blood.
but i've not actually seen this in any wbts publication.
No matter what they have said or printed, they still try and do anything they can to get you to refuse ANY type of blood. As a nurse I used to work downtown Dallas. The elders tried guilt and threats, even though it's suppose to be an individual decision. So--beware!!!

i can recall from a very early age, that before just about every meeting, our family would be on edge while getting ready.
often some of the very worst of our personalities would show themselves.
we would argue and sometimes be downright verbally abusive with each other.
My mom was clinically depressed for as long as I can remember. I had 4 younger siblings that I usually had to get ready. That was after I made supper for everyone. My stepdad would come home and the parents would immediately start fighting. The end result was always the same--mom going back to her room crying and the rest of us going to the meeting like nothing was wrong. We had 2 lifes--one at the KH, and one at home.
i thought this would be kind of fun to do is list some of the offenses that i have committed according to witness beliefs.
i thought it might be mildly amusing considering the lack of emphasis that any of these things are wrong according to the majority of the population.
i'll limit myself to ten.
I agree we'll all have good company in hell. I figure we'er so bad, we'll all get kicked out!!
I've done everything mentioned here, except to get married while a JW.
I know of a couple JW elders that wish I'd go to hell. That was a couple years ago when I had a toddler whose parents were JWs and blood became the issue. The hospital got guardianship because it was life or death. The elders were trying to make the parents feel horrible, even trying to get them to run with the toddler. I had security escort them from the hospital and they were banned from the premises. They tried to have me fired--blew up in their faces. The mom actually thanked me for intervening.

i was trying to fade, and thought i had done so successfully for the past 18months.. i have just received a call from my dad saying it will be announced tomorrow that i have been disfellowshipped... can they do this???.

In '84 I had been reinstated. I missed my siblings that I had raised. It only took a few months and I quit going to the KH. A couple months later one of the elders came by and told me that they had decided to DF me. I was in shock, since I was never asked to a meeting. The only reason they gave me was that I didn't have the proper attitude. It only took me a few seconds and I showed them the "proper attitude"!!

what strikes me on this board is the number of adult converts that have left the borg, either fading out or getting df'd.
from my experience (i was born into it, 2nd generation, left before getting baptized) most of the faders or escapees were also like.
me, born into it, never really accepted it and just bowed out at the first opportunity.
I was in 3rd grade when my parents became JWs. A couple years later my younger sister was climbing up a trailer hitch on a old utility bed after her kitten. It came down and split her head open, and busted her eyeball in 3 pieces. I'll never forget that they were willing to let her bleed to death. No surgeon would touch her. Finally they found one. She came thru with flying colors, with her vision intact. She was paraded around town like she was on display. It made me sick!! That's why today, in my nursing career, I will continue to attempt to help those victims that cannot help themselves. If that includes helping a hospital obtain guardianship, so be it!!

You people have done me more good than all the therapy that has been tried on me!! You know when you are here, you aren't alone!! I've found a family here! There is unconditional love here, which is something we never had while a JW! I hope that I could touch just one life the way you all have touched mine!!

what do you have to say to all the jws who under the direction of the governing body are lurking and spying on this forum and then give the gathered intel to their masters?
I'd remind them to take their medication!!!!! It'd be great if they'd get their heads out of their asses and get a life of their own. Leave everyone else alone!!
Oh yea, I'd remind them that when God created men, she was only joking!!!

i've started on a path that is very comfortable for me almost a year ago.
and now i'm wanting to see how many believe a similar way.. i looked into wiccan, celtic, eclectic and other forms of pagan.
i think that i've settled down into shamanism since that was the path my grandfather went.

I'm wiccan, and proud of it!! (check out my avatar.) I believe wicca is an earth based religion, for each person to find their own way. It's a way of life, a belief system that reflects the way we interact with the world around us. There's one statement that reflects it's ethics/moral code: "And it harm none, do what you will." Nothing is to be done to harm another, or ourself.

i feel really sad and worried today.
yesterday, the police announced that those evil people things who carried out the london bombings came from my own county of west yorkshire.
on my way to work today, i walked through the market hall where there are both muslim and non-muslim stall holders.
On another note, I'd like to tell what happened in a small Texas town a couple days after 9/11. I believe the men were Pakistans (or some dark skin). They had bought a convenience/beer store that had been owned by the same American family for 15 years. The 2 men were standing behind the counter and were heard to say that "the American's got what they deserved!". Of course, that's the wrong thing to say in front of good ole' redneck guys. They ended up getting the shit beat out of them. When the cops got there and found out what had been said- he told the owner "you got what you deserved!" After that no one would go in there. There were more than several "drive-byes". It didn't take to long for them to leave the area!!
