according to christs words at the last supper, his followers were to "keep doing this in remembrance of me" but st paul says that by taking the emblems we are declaring the death of our lord "until he arrives".. the greatest man book (i've been looking at it) says the "arrival of the son of man, jesus christ, with the angels must be invisible to human eyes.
the arrival occurs in the year 1914.
if the gb really believe this why are they still doing the memorial road show?.
Hell, isn't it the only official holiday they CAN celebrate!? Wow-what a party!!

i don't know if this has been posted yet or not, but i just saw an item indicating that silent lambs has joined the hurricane relief effort.
but i noticed it was headlined "silent lambs jehovah's witnesses hurricane relief effort.
" no doubt this is why the orlando based jehovah's witnesses have issued a scam alert at http://www.jw-aid.com of course, they don't think it a scam to ask for donations earmarked for their worldwide work that will benefit first and foremost jehovah's witnesses and precious few others.
That press release did all but blame us. Yes, we are hostile to their work, but I'd like to think no one here would do something like that!
I see they don't mention how much of the contributions will actually go to the relief effort. "Make the checks out to the WBTS", Not to an account specific to the relief effort. Me thinks I smell a skunk!!! And THEY have the nerve to talk about other scams!! That's like the pot calling the kettle black!
When they rebuild the kingdom halls there will more than likely be a new mortage to go with it. Probably tacked on to the unpaid balance. I'm curious, when, and if, they help private(JWs) people rebuild, do they consider it a loan to be paid back??? I just can't see them doing anything unless they profit from it.

My mouth has always over loaded my ass! (and it's a big one! LOL) Maybe that had something to do with all the smelder's meetings every time I took a breath!! I was told I did not act like a sister being submissive to my parents and others!!! Me--submissive!!!Can't see that EVER happening!
Since I left the borg, and after I kicked my daughter's sperm donor out of my house, I've been told I have a major attitude problem to go along with my "not-so-soft" voice. Hell, imagine that!!!

he was from my congregation in missouri.
i remember him well.
he was 6 yrs younger than me.
There's really no words right now. I'm very sorry another solider had to loose his life. It's a shame he's not going to get full military honors. He earned them.
This kinda hits close to home. I'm from the Columbia/Moberly area, (north of Jefferson City) just about a 45 minute drive. Decades ago, some families from our congregation would visit other congregations, including Jefferson City. Anyone else from Misery, OOPS, meant Missouri??

i have to tell a story.. yesterday i begged my boss to let me leave work to go to reunion arena and try to find a child or a mom and child to take in.
then i bugged the heck out of six of nine to go with me because i was not sure what i was getting into and did not want to go alone...though i would have.. so we went to the store and bought 100 dollars of items.
well i went over budget and six paid another 100 for the rest of the items.
That was so wonderful for you to do!! And you probably got more out of it than the ones you were helping. Americans are wonderful people that come together in crisis. No matter what other people think. (NO- I'm not including the gov't agencies that must have a corn cob up their ass.) I'm talking about the everyday people like ourselves.
I was at the Oklahoma City bombing two hours after it happened. 2 doctors and 4 nurses took lifeflight there to help with the Red Cross Diaster team. We were there for 48 hours, in make tents that served as ERs. Most of the heros there didn't recieve any credit. Yet, it was them that make a difference --with no regard to their own life. Regular citizens pored out in droves to see what they could do.
I want to go so bad, but I'm reaping the consequences of my actions when I lost my nursing license due to drugs. I'm in the process of hopefully getting them back early.
Don't forget--GIVE BLOOD!! That itself will make a difference in somene's life!

I'm so sorry to hear about this. If you can't find anything out thru the other resources I can try and pull in a few favors from when I used to work with the red cross diaster team. But even I don't know if I can get thru to anyone. It'll depend on where my friends are right now. I will pray your family is found.

.
on september 5, 2005, it will be the 2 year anniversary since bethany hughes died due to her refusal to take blood transfusions to treat her leukemia.. i was just thinking how wonderful it would be if everyone here who was an eligible blood donor to make a donation of blood and sign a card at the donation center stating that you gave blood in honour of bethany, or another jw child who died as a result of the wts's ban on blood transfusions.. my next eligiblity date as a blood donor isn't until october, but i will be making my donation in bethany's honour.
Scully-
What a great idea. Some other nurses and I are going next week to help with a Red Cross blood drive. I'm also going to email my other nurse friends in DFW that hate having to deal with these people who are willing to let someone die a senseless death.
Several of these nurses were there the day I got to have the elders escorted out by security. They were also told if they set foot on the hospital property they'd call the police. I was surprised when different ellders didn't show up. Think maybe they were smart enough to figure out it'd just happen again.
I challenge everyone here on the board to go and donate!! (All those that are physically able!) Who knows, maybe the part of the blood that is acceptable for them to use---might have been provided by an exJW!! Think of the irony!!!
love ya'll-shelley
i went over and visited my parents today.
my mom broke her hip while we were in hawaii, and i've been mostly house/bed ridden myself since we got home.
so i finally got over there today.. we talked a little about the hurricane, which was on the news she turned off.
Brenda- Watching your dad slip away has got to be hard for you. I've had many alzhiemer's patients and gotten close to them. It's a helpless feeling. My prayers and energies are with you. )))Brenda(((
The "newer GB" will make up newer BS. The older JWs are so programmed and wore mentally down they'll believe the crap. The GB will try and twist it so it appeals to our generation, or more than likely, try and bully them with scare tactics. (like they are already trying to do.)
It'll repeat generation after generation. "It's coming, it's coming......"

me and the kids went to rent movies and noticed that there were long lines of people waiting for gas.
we live in shreveport/bossier louisiana about five hours north of new orleans.
we do have tons of evacuees here and so i understand it is going to be busier here than usual.. people were breaking lines to get gas tonite, and you could feel the tension in the air.
Here in "poe-dunk" Lawton, OK it's 2.99-3.16 on one side of town. On the side farthest from the highway it starts at 2.79. Ain't this gonna be fun??!!
Anyone up for a roadtrip??? (just kidding)
