Like many others, I've found more spirituality since I left the man-made muddle of JWs! I try and treat EVERYONE with respect (except for a couple pain-in-the-asses), not just those labeled JWs'. Reading the bible does not render someone more or less "christain". It's the was we live our life.

in the last congregation that i frequented, on two separate occasions, and two different elders, i was told to do what they said, whether they were right or wrong!
this brought some ridicule in answer, from my lips.
the elders said to do otherwise is to go against jehovah.
Sounds like a Ron Bauer statement. (elder) I used to use that line on my teenager. Didn't work very well, then. They feel like they are "untouchable". Either way you look at it, no one accepts any responsiblity. Their personal opinion is law, no matter what. Makes me puke! "How high should I jump?"

another jw thing that boggles my mind...... my mother-in-law, a super-jw, was crossing the street when she was hit by a car.
she was fortunate enough to sustain very minor injury (bruises and maybe a minor sprain or two).
i would describe the accident as very minor.
They don't care where the money comes from--as long as they (the organization) are getting something out of it.

I sorta agree with the above post about not lumping every JW together. But, I still do. All the elders that played god, all the "brothers" (abusers and molesters) that hid behind the WBTS, and can't forget the govening body, who most of now probably suffers from some kind of dementia---all of these should die a SLOW painful death. Like being stoned by their victims or maybe thrown into a river, with a stone tied around their neck!
Oh, and anyone still wearing a 1970's UGLY polyester suit!

a problem arises when a person leaves or is booted out and slowly discovers the real truth about the wts.
there often is an intense sense of betrayal.
it can be traumatic for many people.
To me it's kinda like if you bought a defective item and the company wouldn't make good on it. Wouldn't you want others to know so they wouldn't make the same mistake??
The WBTS took my family, friends, and my innocence. They want us to roll over and play "dead". Not me, I'm going kicking and screaming all the way. It I can help just one person be free of them, it's worth it.
