I was molested my my stepdad, who was a ministerial servant. I acted out and was in alot of elder's meetings. I was the one always found at fault. They ignored what was going on with me. They (the elders) protected him at all costs. They also pointed blame at my mother. She was so clinically depressed she couldn't hardly function. When I tried to talk to social services, my parents found out about the appointment and it was cancelled. It turned out because a witness worked there. So she told my parents. The only way the abuse stopped was for me to run away to my biological father's in another state.

The elders covered for him for years. Do you know how different my life might have been had someone who was an adult taken some kind of action and tried to think of the child who was a victim??!!

I've seen cover-up first hand.

If you didn't go to the Memorial last night, what did you do?

we watched the tv show, 'the amazing race' (the couple i didn't like finally got the boot), ate take out chinese food, and had a relaxing night.

my mom, aunts and inlaws all went, poor souls, we prayed for them.

My JW mom went to the memorial, mad at me and my sisters. Last night we took my daughter out for her 22nd birthday to Chili's. Ate, drank, and was merry!!! Mom, of course thought we should have all been with her. Didn't see that happening!! It was the most enjoyable memorial night I've ever had!!

A couple years after I left the JWs I had my first suicide attempt. I've tried two more times. The last time should have worked. Being a nurse, I did it right. But my daughter, who was going out of town forgot something and came home. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about it the last 6 months. But I'd never inflict that kind of pain on my daughter. I can see now what it'd do to her. I love her too much. When I get really suicidal, I come find all my friends here, and just read. Just knowing you are all out there helps.
