Hey Word, next time you see Jehovah, tell Him that He wasted 22 years of my life. Tell Him, thanks for nothing. Oh yeah, and tell Him I have a sh*tload of literature I'd like to sell back to Him.

June 6, 2006 Why be worried?
by robhic inon may 5, 2005 the thought occured to me: it's 05/05/05.
now, next year do you think jws -- and/or all fundamentalist groups, etc -- will be anticipating or freak out on june 6, 2006?
it'll be 06/06/06 or, more diabolically extrapolated (as they do so well...), 666!!!

some please make sense of this!
by sad and lonely inhi people!..i have a serious question.and i often wonder have anyone one earth thought this way too!
why when there's a funeral the preacher always say..."got called his son or daughter home.i went to a family funeral, not this relative lived a bad (with a capital bad) life.the family knew it.he was evil, hateful, treated people wrong, yet the preacher said he's gone to heaven...so i'm now thinking then what the hell!..is hell for.no matter what i always hear the preacher say that person is gone to heaven...i asked my brother-in-law,why don't anyone say ...this person is in hell(since hell is suppose to be a place for the sinners)are the preachers afraid to say that around the families?i'm confused!

I guarantee that when I die, everyone...including the preacher...will say I've gone to hell. And to thunderous applause

i wonder....
by kittyeatzjdubs ini toy with the idea of doing this sometimes just for fun...i was wondering if you guys think it would work...i was thinking of going to an out of town congregation where no one knows me and just introducing myself as a visiting witness.
no one would know i was dsf'd...would they?.
of course i wouldn't give my real name...it just seems so funny to me b/c i could so totally play up the zealous pioneer b.s.

Reminds me of the scene in "Life Of Brian" where the old dude is going to get stoned for saying Jehovah. John Cleese tells him to "be quiet or we'll make it worse for you". The old dude says, "How can you make it worse?" and starts hopping up and down on one leg shouting "Jehovah! Jehovah!"

I've though about doing that a few times also. Of course it would work. I know all the little mindless traditions and words to parrot. But the thought of entering a KH, even as a joke, gives me the heebie jeebies. Besides, I might come outta there demonized.

Do world events preoccupy you?
by JH inwhen you read the news on the net or tv or in the news paper, do you get worried about war, oil prices, ozone depletion, species dying, and the list could go on and on, or are you just numb about it?
i found these 2 forums, and they really think that the end is close, and they aren't jw's !!!!

I love keeping up on current events...can't get enough of it. When I was brain-dead, I knew jehovah was going to take care of everything eventually, so nothing that happened in the world mattered. Now that I know that we are pretty much on our own, I follow things closely. I'm even involved in politics now, and it's great. Vote Republican!!

What movies make you think of the Borg?...
by Hecklerboy ini was watching a great sci-fi movie the other day (chronicles of riddick) and there was a phrase in the movie that jumped out at me.
a soldier was being promoted and he said the phrase "obedience without question, loyalty till underverse comes".
i thought "wow, just replace underverse with armageddon and that sound just like the witnesses".

The Shawshank Redemption is a good call, especially the storyline involving the James Whitmore character. Whitmore plays an old convict who has been in prison for most of his life and finally is paroled. Even though he doesn't want to leave prison, he is forced out and doesn't know what to do with himself. He has been institutionalized...been told when to eat, when to sleep, when he can take a crap...and now he can't make any decisions for himself. He's totally lost, and winds up committing suicide. Reminds me so much like being DFed from the Borg.

Was Isaiah really sawn in half?
by truthseeker ini have been thinking to myself lately, why would a loving god, who protects his servants, allow the prophet isaish to be sawn in half?
what possible reason could this serve?.
leolaia, i'd appreciate your thoughts on this question, and the info below.. searches turned up some interesting info.... http://www.bible.ca/sola-scriptura-pro-tradition-sawn-in-two-hebrews-11-37.htm.

What form of execution is more heinous than the ancient Israelite practice of "stoning"? Standing there while people throw rocks at you until you are dead. You standing there, throwing rocks at another human being, until he/she is dead. How monstrous is that? By comparison, getting sawed in half doesn't sound so bad. Probably a relatively quick death. I agree with Crumpet. "God is love". Bullsh*t!

Do you think the world will end soon. If so, when?
by Rod P inpredictions for the end of the world have been going on since the time of christ, and in every century since then.
during the past 100 years there have been more predictions for the end of the world than have been made in all the previous centuries combined.
many of these prophesied dates have since come and gone.. people look around and see the possibility of many different natural or man-made disasters by which the end could come.

Depends, of course, on what you mean by "world". This earth is going to exist for billions of years to come. Humans, at least as we think of humans, won't be around to see that end. Just because man won't be here, possibly killed off by one thing or another, doesn't mean that the earth won't...probably dominated by some other life form. Intelligent cockroaches or the like
