Ever since I was able to grow one, I've had a moustache. When it first started sprouting, I was so proud I could hardly contain myself. I wanted everyone (especially the girls) to notice my newfound manhood. Before meetings, I used to sneak into my mother's bathroom and darken the little sparse hairs with her mascara. I thought I looked rather dashing.
One night, after the close of the meeting, I was talking to a friend at the back of the hall. An elder's wife came up, looked at me closely and said, "You know, if you used some of your mom's mascara on that, it would look better"
Ouch. That was about 34 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday.

The first time I've been "down" b/c of JWD...
by upside/down ini've had good and bad days since stumbing onto jwd... and i've learned more in my short time here than in the last 20 years as an "active" and true to the bone...dub.... but today (tonight) i'm really sad... the tone of almost every thread i read has gotten "ugly".... i love "spirited" discussion, but this is different.
it feels like forum anarchy.. is there no yielding anymore...?.
maybe it was just too much happened today... or solar flares or something... i don't know...don't care.... maybe my new found "love" for my country (not the blind patriotic crap) and life coupled with the obvious animosity toward this love by some...well just bums me out.

my boyfriend was gone with his family, so i had asked my mom if she wanted to spend the day together (like we used to do before i was df'd).
watch a movie, make some food.

I've worn a beard since 1991, the year I was DFed for the 3rd and final time. It's a little salt and pepper these days...ok, I lied, there's a lot of grey but I color it. Don't tell anyone. It's my one vanity.
When I was DFed for the second time, I really wanted to get back in. I had a wife and 2 kids at the time...deeply immersed. I was living away from them and my home-town congregation. I had to converse with the PO over the phone. He was tracking my "repentance".
He told me that in order to be reinstated, I had to shave my sideburns to an acceptable length. I did. -
