Reluctant to admit being a JW is a "spiritual tactic"?
by donny ini was speaking to a neighbor who is a jw but has no idea that i used to be one.
he was talking about why he has to "spread the good news" at his place of employment and i asked him if people tend to balk once he mentions the jw's.. he stated that he uses a "spiritual tactic" to sometimes get around this problem.
he said when he hears someone talking about religious or biblical matters, he will often chime in with "what do you think about the jehovah's witnesses way of interpretation?".

I just find it amusing that he looks at the denial as a "spiritual tactic."

If they answer with a real negative tone, he will let the matter drop. However, if they seem curious, then he will go on with his presentation. He then told me that "admitting your are a Witness these days is getting harder and harder to do."
Has anyone else on this board used this "spiritual tactic" and are you reluctant to admit being a JW?

Just when you thought you had seen the worst about Eddie Long...
by serenitynow! inthe disgusting pedophile preacher in atlanta, who paid off his accusers and still is "bishop" in his mega church, was actually crowned king!
not sure of what, but there was a big ceremony, and one of the most bizarre things i've seen.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wtadde8zi0.
he's got jewish people mad for his use of the torah, and christians for his being declared a king!.

This was one of the biggest loads of crap that I have seen in some time. Where is Robert Tilton when you need him?

You must be using Explorer 9 as your browser. Click on the compatability "torn page" icon to the right of the address bar before you post and it should resolve the problem.

Hi Minimus,
I also had the same issue after getting a new computer. It's most likely cause by compatibility issues with Internet Explorer 9. If you want to use IE 9, before you post click on the compatability icon (looks like a torn paper page) located just to the left of the refresh icon. After you click on the icon, you will be able to post. You will have to do this each time you come to JWN.

LAST CALL: Give a piece of advice to JW's going into the New Year
by Terry inhere is my advice to jehovah's witnesses everywhere.. .
it is okay to treat each day as if it were your last if it makes you more grateful, humble and kind.. but, if it becomes your excuse for neglecting your life, your sense of charity, your education and your humanity---then, shut the hell up about end times and make a new beginning.. start with here and now....today....improving this world any way you can.
stop thinking of everybody else as some kind of "enemy" that deserves to die if they don't read your magazine.. the sooner you comprehend that your truth is just another opinion the better off you'll be.. oh, and try loving people who don't think the same way you do.. start with those brothers and sisters you've been turning your back on.

Good post Terry. Compassion for anything or anyone outside the JW fold was one of the big issues that bothered me during my sentence in the organization.

Wow, almost 12,000 partakers. They are almost up to the amount of one of the tribes of the 144,000. How long will it take to get to tribe #2?
