One person sent me a message stating that with the Society having all of the pedo issues, they may start showing pictures of nude folks in paradise. Then they can say they were ahead of the game long before paradise became reality.

Skinny dipping in the new order?
by donny inthe jw's are quick to tell you that when jehovah has finished kicking the ass of those who do not acknowledge the teachings of the watchtowers governing body in new york state, that those who survive will live forever in a restored paradise on earth.
the same goes for those who are resurrected during the 1000 year reign of jesus and survive satan being let loose "for a little while" at the end.. they are also quick to tell you that everything will be just as it was for adam and eve before the latter decided she needed a fruit fix and then got her hubby high on it as well.. and when you view the illustrations in their publications showing what they view this paradise to be, it shows a world of lush color.
the deep greens of all the trees and grass, the clean blue skies, puffy white clouds and tables covered in a plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables representing just about every major color.

My local JW source, a co-worker, has no answer for this. In fact he said it was the first time he had ever heard the question. Then he added, "What makes you think of these things?"
I just replied "Inquiring minds want to know."

The JW's are quick to tell you that when Jehovah has finished kicking the ass of those who do not acknowledge the teachings of the Watchtowers governing body in New York state, that those who survive will live forever in a restored paradise on earth. The same goes for those who are resurrected during the 1000 year reign of Jesus and survive Satan being let loose "for a little while" at the end.
They are also quick to tell you that everything will be just as it was for Adam and Eve before the latter decided she needed a fruit fix and then got her hubby high on it as well.
And when you view the illustrations in their publications showing what they view this paradise to be, it shows a world of lush color. The deep greens of all the trees and grass, the clean blue skies, puffy white clouds and tables covered in a plethora of fresh fruits and vegetables representing just about every major color. Then add the scenes of little children playing with lions, bears and other beasts that today are considered dangerous, and you have paradise.
But there is one thing they do not show that we "know" was a factor in pre-fallen Eden. Nudity. According to "Gods" word, the couple were naked in their perfection and did not consider clothing until they became aware of their nakedness after munching out on the forbidden fruit.
So logically (one of the Watchtowers favorite words), this would mean that once the survivors of Armageddon and their fellow resurrected ones achieved perfection after the millennial reign of Jesus, then the clothes should go. After all, wearing apparel is only needed because of sin.
However when you look at the Watchtowers publications of these scenes of the future paradise, not only are the people clothed, but they are clothed very conservatively. Some show men in suits and women wearing high heels.
Really? People in the new world will continue to dress up for meetings as they do today? Will those future paradise inhabitants be aware of the story of Adam and Eve? And if one asks "Why are we not naked as they were before the fall?," what will the "logical" answer be?
What is the Watchtowers explanation of the need of clothing in the perfect paradise earth? Maybe Ross and the Burling Coat Factory will survive and be viable in Gods new "system of things."

Hard time coping with shunning
by bsand20 init's almost 1am and i can't sleep...again.
i hate to think the organization is still taking my sleep from me 16 years later but i can't help it.
i run a page on social media for ex jw support and advice and i'm usually there helping others but it definitely takes a toll on me when i'm having to argue and disprove jws that troll my page.

bsand20 it is interesting that you mention that your cousin cut you off 2 years ago even though you have been out 16. I left the organization in September 1992 while my children were still kids. My two daughters left the religion years ago but my son remained. 4 years ago he became an elder but he was still talking to me and coming to visit when I did my twice yearly trips back to Dallas to visit family.
Then in June of 2012 we hooked up as we usually do and this time he took me to his place of employment to show me what he did as a mechanical engineer. He introduced me to several of his fellow workers and to his management. I was surprised because he had never let me get this far into his personal life since he had became an adult.
Afterwards we went to lunch and everything seemed to be going well for the first 30 minutes or so. Then he excused himself to go to the restroom and when he came back he took a deep breath and then excused himself again. He did this one more time and it prompted me to ask what was wrong?
He paused for a moment and then said that he loved me and said I had been a good dad to him, but it was time for him to make a decision that was not easy for him. He said that unless I began attending meetings again with the intent on getting reinstated that he would not be able to associate with me. He then said that he was grateful that I had not been an "active" apostate since my departure 20 years prior and he hoped I would make the right call. You could tell he was on the verge of breaking down as he said these words and then he departed.
I sat there stunned by what I had just heard and I was very confused. Why did he take me to his workplace and introduce me to all of those folks only to say his goodbye just 2 hours later? After my shock subsided I questioned whether or not he would maintain his stance, but 2.5 years later I have not heard from him even by email or text. The only "updates" I hear about him is through my mom and dad who have never been J.W.'s.
I know of a few other who had left and still kept communication with family or friends and their cutoff also occurred in 2012, so was there some extra push or emphasis from the Society that year to avoid disfellowshipped and disassociated ones?
As a result of that meeting I decided no longer to be the quiet former JW and have been an "active" apostate ever since.

Thanks millie210 and steve2. You can tell they were quite uncomfortable with the topic. Within a minute they wanted to do the typical thing that JW's do when encountering a difficult sitiation and that i s"we'll get back to you."
Good point Blondie. In the last couple of years as an active JW, I more often than not thought we were more like the Pharisees than the diciples of Jesus.
Crazytown you are correct and todays encounter proves it,
NAVYTOWN that was a problem for me in my waning years as a Witness. By then I kew that what the original authors had put to papyrus did not have a damn thing to do with Rutherford and his band of cronies. I feel stupid for even considering that possibility.

Today on my morning run I saw two sets of JW's going door to door on Boston St. One set was two ladies and the other was two guys. After I has passed them up on the sidewalk I turned around and began walking towards them. The ladies turned to go up to another home just before I got to them but the guys were still approaching.
I looked at them as they approached a ... nd said "Good morning!" They returned the salutation and kept walking. In my days as a witness I would have stopped to talk to anyone standing outside, but today they must have deemed me not needing their good news.
So I ran around the block and began walking again when I saw them in the distance. This time I decided to be the one who would speak. As they approached again I asked if they were Jehovah's Witnesses and they replied in the affirmative.
I then told them I have an aunt who is a Witness (I really do) and she keeps telling me that the JW's have been the only true religion since the spring of 1919.
The taller of the two looked at me with a puzzled look and asked "She really said that?"
"Yes," I replied;, "Is that not true?"
He answered ""Well yes it is, but that is rarely shared with people who are not of our faith?"
I said laughing "Why is that? Is it secret information?"
"No" came the response, "It's just not something that we talk about much. It is a very difficult subject to explain to those not familiar with the teachings of our faith. Are you interested in learning more about 1919?"
"Yes I am."
"May I ask why? What is your religious background?"
"I am an agnostic atheist myself, but I am interested in understanding why she believes that?"
"Why is 1919 so important for you to understand?
"Well because that is a very, very, very important statement. What your church is essentially saying is that in the spring of 1919, God ceased any involvement with any and all other religions and from that point on he only worked through you guys."
"I guess it is important. I just had never thought about it much." (I am not surprised)
He then began explaining the 7 times mentioned in the book and how it added up to 2520 years and if you start with the destruction of Jehovah's temple in the year 607 BC you end up in the year 1914.
I replied, " Yes, I understand how the 1914 thing works but I do not get the way she gets to 1919. She cannot explain it to me."
"Well don't fault her too much. Most of us cannot as well or at least not without a lot of research." The mans partner had a look of confusion the whole time this conversation was going on.
"Isn't that strange," I retorted. "You would think that would be a well taught point of faith for you folks."
"I understand but since I cannot explain it well at the moment can I get your address so I can come back when I am better prepared?"
"Sure." I gave him my address and I look forward to his explanation. I have a feeling that I will not be hearing from anyone anytime soon. -

Poll--How Many Believe In God, Do Not Believe or Are Not Sure Of His Existence?
by minimus ini believe in god but i'm not sure of anything....what about you?.

I do not believe there is enough evidence to believe in an a diety who interacts with the natural world. I cannot say for certain that there is nothing beyong the physical, but I am very certain that if such an entity does exist, it sure is not the being referred to as Jehovah, Yahweh or Allah.

Not Thinking It Through part 2
by donny inrecently i was going through some of my old storage boxes and came across my 1988 copy of the watchtower issued book "revelation.
its grand climax at hand!".
as i flipped through its pages i was reminded how blinded i was in regards to rational thinking.

steve2 brought up a good point about using persons or situations in the bible as types or anti-types of things currently going on in the organization. Those used to drive me nuts. I got sick of hearing about the "Noah class" or the "Elijah class" etc. In reality it was closer to the "Jim Jones class" than anything they suggested.

I cannot fathom that they studied this book like 5 times? I guess when Freddie bit the dust they have had a hard time coming up with equally bizarre material.
