I will never undrestand what is wrong with birthdays. Why are wedding aniverseries ok. "shaking my head" I was in the JW's for 20 years and i still dont understand. The only thing I remember being told is that there was never a good birthday in the bible. We were not told to celebrate birthdays so we don't for those reasons. Anniverseries are ok 'cause God set up the first marriage. It is a perfect union by God himself. Were humans ever told to celebrate aniv. like we were told to celebrate Jesus death?

now, next year do you think jws -- and/or all fundamentalist groups, etc -- will be anticipating or freak out on june 6, 2006?
it'll be 06/06/06 or, more diabolically extrapolated (as they do so well...), 666!!!

Good luck. I hope all goes well. Try not to let the shunning get you down, it is very hard at first. But it is kinda nice after a while. They were very shallow anyway. Take care.

Word what is the deal. Are you judging my friend ummmm whats his name. Bad habit of the jw's. God will do what he wants when he wants and how he wants. You have NOT figured it out. For all you know you could be in more trouble with God the him for your judgemental attitude. Sheesh for all I know I could to for typing this. We will have to see. Take a humility pill and call me in the morning.

Should you keep a marriage together for the sake of the kids?

here goes.. there are a lot of people who feel very strongly that you should keep a marriage together at all costs for the sake of the kids, since they feel that children need both a mother and a father.

I couldn't stand not to see my kids everyday. I would never leave and I would stay true to my marriage vows. Fighting has to be worked out. Find the thing that is causing the fight and fix it or get rid of it. At one point the married couple loved each other enough to want to spend every minute together, that doesn't wear off. Life just has a way to make even the best things seem bad sometimes. Children are worth it, love is worth it.

I wouldn't worry about getting anyone in trouble. THe family is very important to God, that is why he set it up. You need to go see your cousin, if not for his father for him. I am not a jw anymore and when I got real sick not one jw came to see me. It mad me very mad, and reaffirmed my beliefe that I would never be one again. Don't let your cousin feel this way. Love is the most important thing in the world, he needs his family to show it before it is too late. i hope he does get better. Take care,

i can only answer my subject question by saying the purpose of life is the 4 things sought after in the wizard of oz: love, courage, intelligence, and home.. and we all possess them whether we know it or not.

I to have had the same problems. I have been depressed as long as i can remember. I have sever anxiety problems, suffered kidney falure, had a heart attack, tried to kill myself numerous times, been DFd, shuned by my family and old friends, all in about five years now. I still have a dialy battle to do what is right, and I fail often. Leading to more depression and anxiety,I am now on meds. I do have a wonderful wife and children and her family that have helped me through A LOT. my mother-in-law actually donated a kidney to me. My parents wouldn't. They said that he couldn't be out of work for so long. Try to find those in your life that will support you, those that you trust. i really hope that you have at least one preson that you do. Tell them you really need help, tell them that you may dissapoint them from time to time, it is easy to do when drugs and depression are involved. Just please keeep plugging along. I know how hard it can be. People get really depressed when they are really sick. Especially if you have been sick for a long time. but you are still alive. And life can be wonderful. I don't know how ill you are now, that may have a huge factor on your mood. I don't know if you believe in the Bible or not, but it says that we are hear to serve God. To prove to satan that even though it seems that their is no God and that life is really hard we still want to please him. In the Bible god says if we do the things that he says we will be happy and our lives will go well, except for the times that satan is after us trying to break our faith but that won't last forever. he will give up after a WHILE. i am not trying to preach at you if it seems like it I am sorry. i am just telling you the things that I have read and felt that have helped me get through a very tough time in my life. I hope things go better for you. let me know how things turn out. HUGS

Drawing unfair comparisions-Convention talk on Tues night
by Jez intuesdays meeting had a part about the upcoming summer convention.
alot of q n a about how to dress, to wear your lapel at all times, to be clean, to not eat out bec the worldly vendors would be upset that they are not allowed to sell food inside the arena, to watch your language, conduct at the motels, to walk quietly, to not be in the halls during the sessions, informal witness at every opportunity etc.
then this man comments and says, "what other religion would clean up the arena before and after a convention?

JW's take a lot of pride in calling themselves "different". They really do think that they are now gods chosen people. Constantly tying to make all of their members believe that they are better than any other religon, convincing the weak minded to stay with them. I still have problems with other religions because of what I was brainwashed into believing. We go out in service, no other religion does that, we always keep our house and ourselves neat and clean, we do not grow beards, we dress up for meetings, we do not ask for money, we stay out of politics supporting only gods kingdom the list goes on and on. All of these things they use to make people believe that they are better than everyone else, favored more by God. They are missing one very important thing that was taught over and over again by Jesus. One is faith which they do have but also HUMILITY which they do not have. Every human on this Earth is in the same boat. Wether you are a JW or a Catholic or a Hindu ect. we are all just humans trying to please God the best way we know how. The gift is for all of us humans.
