Two More Old Friends Died

my wife just walked in from visiting my daughter and said two of my friends from youth had died in the past few weeks, they were brothers.

we grew up together as jws and my daughter married the grandson of their father's sister, that's why she knew of their deaths.

no one had let me know so i could have attended their funerals.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend as well as hearing you weren't given the opportunity for some closure.

Should jws use makeup?

You know it is funny but on my job once all the women were talking about me being a witness and then one said, yeah and she wears makeup, she isn't supposed to. So one of my friends on that job called me and asked if I was supposed to wear it. I told her of course I can wear makup!

because the WTS took so many things in the bible and used them to their own intent, I dont' know that to believe, what is literal, what is figureative and what had NOTHING to do with what we were told. I dont' trust my judgment.

Of course I thought the end was going to come in my lifetime. It was all I had ever been taught. In highschool I didn't take any business classes because who needed a job? Armegeddon was going to come in my Sophomore Year.

Life rushes in........

There are times it still is overwhelming. I just mostly try to focus on moving on with life. That helps me.

Do you miss feeling that "Jehovah" was listening to prayers?

this is hard to explain, but i will try.

the other day, my neice was put in the hospital for test , after having two seizures, she is 20 and has never had any medical problems at all.

i now know, that by doing that it seemed to take the burden of helplessness off of my shoulders.

yes. Sometimes I am not even sure how to pray any more. So most of the time I do not. And when I do, I usually start out calling him "Jehovah" and then apologize immediately after, in case I am referring to him in a wrong way. Once I get past that, I pray about what is close to my heart and hope he is listening. I think he is. But I wish I was more sure about the proper way to pray
