You're right, Cantleave - you're not me, and I can guarantee that none of the other people on this site are me either - irrespective of my AOL-assigned IP address, or the pattern that this site generates from it, or indeed of the paranoia of some so-called "accusers", I am just me - sitting here in my study in a sleepy town in Hertfordshire. I always think that Occam's Razor counts for a lot when certain types try to use limited intellect to solve (or create) "conspiracies" - as you probably know, this razor says "entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity" (which is apt in this instance - lol) - or in other words, the simplest answer is probably the correct one - and in this case, if we consider the pain of multiple log-ins, multiple email addresses to get those log-in names, continual logging in and out of one name after another just to confuse and upset poor old Ninja ... versus the simple answer that IP addresses can often be assigned by the ISP and are outside of the control of any simple user like me .... well - I think the latter is more likely - don't you ?

I can't help but feel bad about it all.
by MisfitMeL inok so i travelled home last weekend to break the news to my mum about my engagement to a 'wordly' man.. to be honest, i chickened out and instead of confronting her face to face, i decided to write a long letter to her about it.. we have never really got on and she has a knack for getting on my nerves.
she was very emotionally abusive throughout my childhood (and can still be).
i guess she had her reasons although it doesn't excuse the behaviour.. anyway i tried to be as diplomatic as possible.

DO SOMETHING
by ArtfulDodger ini see this site gets thousands of postings every day .. from literally thousands of members, mostly ex-dubs, from all over the world.. rather than simply go on moaning and whinging about the big nasty org why don't you all put your efforts into something positive ... do something.. ok - the org is evil .. but it exists ... and simply whining on about it doesn't change that.
with your efforts directed at something positive, you could do wonders for .
.for anything you choose.. hundreds of real charities could do with your support - to help the really needy .

lol AuldSoul . . have to admire the style of your response ... if not the content.
No, I have never been a JW - nor indded have I spent much time with any who are in preaching-mode . . . but I do recognise the "religion" as a cult - and an evil one at that.
As you've taken the time to read one or two of my previous threads you might like to consider whether those ones were serious ... or just mild mickey-taking ... read them again and I think you'll see :-) This one, however, was not taking the mick - I was simply stating my views. And I believe I am allowed to do that . . yes ?

All This Baptism Talk.......
by MidwichCuckoo insorry - i know there's been a few postings on it lately.
i personally was shocked to read of baptisms at such tender ages, and when i mentioned this to a jw, they maintained i was talking rubbish......... anyway.
we've already discussed annulment (a brilliant idea as it has to be null and void due to there being no valid contract with minors (unless in case of necessity), duress and undue influence etc), and they do treat it as a contract as there are penalties if the baptised person breaches it.. so - if a 7 - 16 year old (whose parent(s) were not dubs) wanted to get baptised, i think they'd have a bit of an obstacle.

I agree that the parents are responsible for many of their childrens' activities ... but I'm not sure that this extends to their religious activities. Seems a bit like saying the child can't think for him/her self. Not sure about the age range either .. seems that at age 10 the "child" becomes criminally responsible for actions . .(or personally responsible for criminal actions, whichever way you want to put it) so one assumes that he/she could be responsible for religious ones too. But younger that 10 .. yes, you have a point.

Hundreds of REAL charities could do with your support - to help the really needy . .or you could band together and set up your own Charity to raise money for a cause of your choice. Seems you lot waste all your time and energy moaning about the JW-Org ... what a waste.

Campaign - with credit to Schne_Belly
by MidwichCuckoo ini did post this on schne-belly's thread - but thought more may read it as a new topic.
apologies if idea has already been posted.. i think a good campaign would be for us to compose a 'standard' letter (maybe bullet points regarding certain issues, ngo - which the average jw is unaware of - child abuse, hypocricy of mexico / malawi stuff etc.
with quotes from watchtowers if need be, as they seem to carry more weight than the bible does) and each of us to print off several copies and send to selected members of the local congregation - the ones we know / remember as the intelligent thinkers.

Splendid idea, Cuckoo - good information is the enemy of dis-information.... tell the R&F what's really going on.

Hmmm...or maybe 'Campaign Strategy'.....
by MidwichCuckoo inreading andersonsinfo's thread yesterday made me think.
the best way to make the public aware of any issue is by educating them through entertainment.
i'd never even heard of schindler (shame on me) until the film was made - and that's what people want.
-

I agree Midwich - I never heard of Shindler before the film either . . . and Pearl Harbour was just a little tiff in foreign lands until the film :-)

Could You Stay Friends With Someone Who Visited Prostitutes?
by Englishman ina while back, an aquaintance of mine told me that he liked to visit prostitutes.
although we weren't that close, i'd worked on and off with him over the years.
i knew his wife too and would often see her around town.. he'd told me that when he had something to celebrate, like his birthday or maybe a commercial win, he and a pal of his would do the pubs and clubs first and then go kerb crawling until they found a pair of street girls who would play the swopsy's scene.

"Priggish" Englishman ? . . noooo . . a small minded bigot, yes, but your description is much too mild. Some 'friend' huh ?

NOAH'S ARK WAS A SUBMARINE
by VM44 inaliens helped build noah's ark
file: ufo224
ancient tests reveal that noah's ark was built with the help of space aliens and that it was actually a submarine especially made to help him survive the great flood, say experts.
-
ArtfulDodger
OK, so in order to believe this posting, we have to . .
(a) Believe there was a flood
(b) Believe there was a Noah
(c) Believe there are space aliens
... and then the Space Aliens predicted the flood, found Noah, and taught him how to build a submarine so that he could save the animals and preserve the human race.
Might have been easier for the Space Aliens to simply load it all on to their space craft and fly about a while till the puddles had dried, don't you think ?
