evil knievel dead at 69. knievel died in clearwater, florida on november 30, 2007. he had been suffering from diabetes and pulmonary fibrosis for many years.
longtime friend billy rundel reported that knievel had trouble breathing while at his residence in clearwater, but died before the ambulance could reach the hospital.

hello folks.
i posted one topic in the "relationships" section of this board, but just wanted to say a few words, and introduce myself, i am tank.
i was just curious, this is a jw board, i was expecting to find 80% of the members, or posts, to be of diehard, hardcore jw's, trying to preach there beliefs or there views, but yet, almost every thread i read has to do with someone leaving, already left, or a story of when they left, nonetheless, all the stories lead away from the jw religion.

Enjoyed reading your story. I didn't have a Clue when I joined the Witnesses at the age of 28... after 13 years, circumstances allowed me to take a break and step back... Man, was I shocked when reality sank in... I've been out for close to 10 years now.

on october 6th i registered in this forum, and gave a brief description of my personal experience, promising i would expand later.
the time has gone by very rapidly, other different priorities have kept me away from this forum, which i will not cover otherwise i would take even more time going down to the core of the subject.

Great post. I agree with you, it makes no sense.
These people claim to represent us all, and yet they have no interaction, no imput from the thousands around the globe who make up the so called 8000 or so, annointed.
I had no idea that Headquarters didn't keep a record, a name at the very least. That is news to me... Makes me wonder what role the annointed even play in the scheme of things, whats the point, other than their "Heavenly Calling".
I feel you are right, they should be organized, have meetings and pool their ideas and figure out as a group what is best for Jehovah's people. Maybe if it were that way, rules wouldn't be so harsh, there would be more understanding of each other.
Oh, and Women would also have some imput... (yeah right).

when you used to go in the field service, did you go out to have 2 more hours on your report, or did you really want to save somebody's life by preaching a message of salvation ?
As I stated in my profile.... I don't think I ever really bought into it all, even from the beginning. So, I would have to say I was just doing what was expected of me.
I did enjoy talking with the Elderly in the area tho... I would leave their homes wishing I felt as spiritually refreshed as they seemed to with their personal religion.
My JW Hubby was a different story tho... he adored FS.... can't imagine...

a producer with nbc in new york called within the past hour to tell me that the segment i interviewed for (once in nashville, tn in august and once in washington, dc in october) is set to air tonight on nbc nightly news with brian williams, that is, if no huge calamity takes place to bump the feature.
this piece will be two minutes and 45 seconds long, the longest slot nightly news has for topics of interest, and will feature a discussion about the court documents that are found on the cd i recently produced, "secrets of pedophilia in an american religion, jehovah's witnesses in crisis.
in addition, nbc's internet site, msn, will follow with a detailed story.
I was impressed with the report. Way to go... "Barbara"...!!!
I too am glad I got my children out when I did.
