Young women dresed a little tarty but in a respectable sort of way if you get my meaning, young men in expensive suits thinking they look like mafiosi.

How did you get the "troof"?

my maternal grandparents came to england in the early 1940s, and learnt the troof here.
my grandfather opposed my grandmother for a while, but then he decided it wasn't worth the fight and studied the blue "troof book" and my grandparents got baptised at the same assembly.

Bloody hell, you guys are cynical!
I'm not saying that as an insult or putting you down, its just a relief thats all, to hear other people talk about their childhoods in such a way, which is proof to me that I'm quite normal and not the selfish, nasty, spoilt brat I was told I was every time I didn't want to go to a meeting.
I was born into it all too, but my dad got disfellowshipped when I was 11, however, I started to study again in my mid teens and continued this on and off for a few years until last year when I realised I could not give my baby girl the same upbringing as I had.

Elder Condemned Me to Death
by Grace ini have been thinking about this because of another post where the question asks have any of us ever been blackmailed to stay in the watchtower organization.. no, i won't say i was blackmailed; however, after i wrote my note of disassociation, the congregation overseer wanted to visit me in my home with two other elders.
i repeatedly said no, that i would not allow them to chastise me in my own home.
therefore, all of my conversations were over the phone with the overseer.

WHY no cross dressing in the Bible?
by hamsterbait inthings like jesus going for a pee, someone splitting thier hose, cutting their finger, are never mentioned in the bible.. one argument is that these things were so commonplace that nobody even thought to mention them.. since there is a rant in the jewish law about men not being allowed to dress as a woman, one would think there might be one recorded instance.
after all they did a tale about the egyptian gathering wood on the sabbath.. does this mean that cross dressing was so common in bible times it didn't even rate a mention in the book?.

Did you ever want to just 'FOREST GUMP' it out of the Kingdom Hall?
by GetBusyLiving inthe last few weeks of meetings for me were pure hell.
i got a cold sweat sometimes and just sat there fantasizing about running forest gump style out of the kingdom hall.
i was getting "encouraged" to comment more too and i just physically could not audibly promote that crap in public anymore.

Theres a woman in my local Kingdom Hall who is very emotional.
A couple of times at the meeting she just jumped up out of her chair, crying hysterically and ran out of the Kingdom Hall.
I don't know if she puts it on when shes bored or what but if she does shes one hell of an actress.

1 - they have to be funny.
2 - they have to be more intelligent than me (which isn't difficult to be honest).
3 - they have to be honest.
4 - they have to be generous with kisses and cuddles.
5 - they have to be clean and smell nice.
Turn offs.
1 - grumpiness.
2 - the big headed self loving type.
3 - bad breath / general smelliness.
4 - anyone who refuses to work.
5 - long hair or lots of body hair.
