Just a very simple roast turkey tonight with potatoes and greens, I have been eating processed cheese slice and beetroot sandwiches all day, yuk, must be the pregnancy to blame.

Woman loses frozen embryo's fight before European Court Human Rights
by diamondblue1974 in.

I am only able to look at this from an emotional point of view and I feel sorry for the woman, she more than likely thought of the embryo as her child, and for a man who once cared for her to withdraw his consent from her having his baby is very cruel indeed.

Live for 100 years
by Ellie in.
did anyone see the tv programme 'time' last night?.
maybe you all know this already but i was quite shocked to hear that scientists are working on some kind of gene therapy to prolong human life.. according to 1 scientist, within the next 40 years they will have figured out a way to alter our genes which will enable us to live an extra 20 years, by the time that 20 years is up they will have advanced to be able to prolong our lives to 200 years, and he predicted that before long we will be able to live to be 1000 to 2000.

book advertisements
by Ellie in.
my neighbour told me that she saw a book advertised on the internet, it was advertised as a book about the history of the earth, she thought it would be good for her son so she bought it, it was delivered today by a jehovahs witness, he tried to preach to her, she told him the book wasn't what she had thought and she didn't want it.. is this normal practice?

How long did it take for the fog to lift?
by Honesty ini was inactive for almost 2 years, not attending meetings or reading any watchtower publications before i felt the fog start to lift from my mind and i could truly think.
how long did it take for you?
-
Ellie
I've not been to a meeting in roughly 18 months, its starting to lift slowly now, it just depends though, some days I actually think it is the truth, and others, like today, I'm a proud apostate.

Oscars - did your favorite win?
by pratt1 ini agreed with all of the winners at last night's oscar's except for the best actor award.. i would have given it to joquin phoenix.
i thought his performance as johnny cash was great.. i also thought that jon stewart did a great job.
i particularily liked the opening skits.
