An actor friend of mine knows Simon Gregson quite well and he isn't aware that he was brought up a Jehovahs Witness, he is going to ask him though.

would you let your child associate with Jehovahs Witnesses?
by Ellie in.
i'm the only one of my family who is not in 'the truth', and my family don't want anything to do with me.. however, today my mum asked me if she can take my 2 year old to visit the rest of the family, i'm not invited and wouldn't be welcome at any of their houses, so she would be taking my daughter alone.. i told her i would think about it.. i really don't think it would be practical because my daughter is not familiar with the family and i don't want her to be upset.. but the main reason |'m thinking of saying no is that i feel offended that i am not good enough for them to speak to.. am i being selfish if i say no?

If a family member wanted to spend time with my daughter and they happened to be catholic it really wouldn't bother me, aslong as that family member was willing to be pleasant with me.

If your mate, had an affair, what would you do ??? really, think it out ...
by run dont walk in.
toughest question anyone can ask, if the love of your life, and mate/wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend messed around on you, whether it be once or for years, how would you handle it and what would you do, think about it slowly and carefully.. wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.. it's said that 50 % of marriages are affected by an affair, it's probaly alot higher.. did you notice any affairs in your congregation ???.
i look back now, and think, oh yeah there was.

EvilForce - sex is just sex for a man but I doubt very few women would agree.

This would depend very much on the circumstances.
For me, and I think I speak for a lot of women when I say this, the emotional attachment that happens during an affair is worse than the sex.
If it was a one night stand then it could probably be forgiven, if feelings come into things then a definate permanent breakup would be called for.

The only reason I can think of is that ginger rhymes with minger, that seemed funny when I was at school.

Whats the spookiest thing that has happened to you?
by diamondblue1974 ini have had a few experiences which some could be dealt with rationally although even to this day the coincidences seem too convenient; .
mine was on new years day in 1994; i didnt celebrate new years at the same although i was about to start my fade that year; i was ill on new years eve anyway and i had been sleeping when i awoke at precisely 12.13. i couldnt get back to sleep but there was no obvious reason why.. my grandmother was in hospital but she was getting better when i had last spoken to her; i managed to back off to sleep but woke that following morning for some reason really concerned about my gran; just as i was coming downstairs the phone rang and my girlfriend answered it.
i said to her before she got to the phone that it would be my mother with bad news about my gran; i was right on both counts; it was my mum and my gran had died.....at 12.13 precisely..

Whyamihere - The experience that you talked about where you woke up in the night unable to move happens to me from time to time too.
Its called sleep paralysis and is associated with narcolepsy.
It is scary when it first happens but if you look into it you'll see that its just a harmless medical disorder.

JW terminology really gets my goat
by Ellie in.
i don't know if its just me or if anyone else feels the same but it really annoys me when jehovahs witnesses use their terminology when speaking to a non jw.. for example, a jw woman is talking to a collegue who has never had a bible study and knows nothing about jws.. instead of saying "i have a friend coming for tea tonight" the woman says " one of the sisters is coming for tea tonight".. or, instead of "i was talking to a friend on the phone last night" she says "i was talking to an elder on the phone last night".. it just really winds me up, i think they do it to seem important and mysterious but it only leaves the other person confused.

How do you deal with a long distance relationship?
by LyinEyes inmy husband is off working hail in amarillo, texas right now and has been gone so much of this year.
when the kids were smaller , we all went , which was great fun, seeing new places.. circumstances are now that i can't leave home , i have to stay home with the kids so that they have a somewhat normal life now that we are borg free.. we have unlimited talk time on our cell phones and that is what keeps us close.
today i cried as i put a few of his clothes he still has here, most of his clothes are with him, and it was so painful seeing the drawers so empty.

Some might say that you are in a very fortunate position but I know its not easy being seperated from the person you love.
A lot of my friends are in the same postion as you, with their husbands working away and I too was away from my partner for 4 months.
Its good to be able to talk on the phone and send letters and parcels but you also need to prepare yourself mentally for his absences.
My friends have found that working or taking on college courses have helped them, try to go out more socially, just keep your mind off missing your husband.
